The Fulbright Academy of Science and Technology (FAST) held the 4th annual conference in Macedonia, from 2-24-27, March, 2009. The theme of the conference was ‘Small places can change the world’, and there were over 40 participants from different countries, including: the USA, Israel, Croatia, Albania, Kosovo, Serbia, Romania, etc.

The Rector and the President of the Board attended the 5th EUA Convention of European Higher Education Institutions held in Prague, 18-21 March 2009, on the topic 'Facing Global Challenges: European Strategies for Europe's Universities.' The Rectors of SS Cyril and Methodius University, Skopje and St Kliment Ohridski University, Bitola, and a Vice-Rector from the State University of Tetovo were also present.27 March 2009

South East European University through Tempus IV Project, successfully is implementing the Project for design of new curricula for Master Studies in Education. The Project is consisting by consortiums of the following universities: University of Rome 3, University of Aarhus-Denmark, University of Nottingham-Great Britain, and from the Western Balkans are SEEU, University of Tirana and University of Prishtina.
