Trainings for professional development of SEEU staff were held

At South East European University successfully was completed the professional development week (20-24 January 2014), where it were treat different topics of great importance for the professional development of the academic and administrative staff.

Challenges of Governance and Management, Quality Update, Academic workload and performance metrics – presentation and staff discussion, Research opportunity and research profile of academic staff, Professional communication – lines of authority, efficiency and courtesy, Effective student and staff complaints/appeal resolution, Internationalization and student/staff mobility, were some of the topics in the focus presentations and workshops.

Traditionally, in the first day of training the Rector Prof. Dr. Zamir Dika, addressed the audience and made an analysis of the achievements and future challenges that await our institution.

“Our university has positive trends and is well positioned in the market of higher education in Macedonia and in the region. This is an assessment for all of us, however this should motivate us to work even harder and become even more distinct from others”, said among others Rector Dika.

The President of SEEU Board, Prof. Dr. Dennis Farrington, had a presentation on Challenges of Governance and Management, where he made comparison between our university and some UK and European models.

Training sessions were held by Secretary-General Xhevair Memedi, Quality Advisor Heather Henshow, Provost Andrew Goodspeed, Pro-rector for research Prof. Dr. Blerim Reka, Director of the Institute Max van der Stoel, Prof. Dr. Veton Latifi, Director SEEU Technological Park, Doc. Dr. Azir Aliu and others.
