In total, seven final papers were submitted for external evaluation by Thomas Olsson, Academic Developer, Lund University, Sweden. He noted in his Evaluation report that:
“The papers propose interesting and valuable quality initiatives that will, in different ways, improve teaching and student learning at SEEU. In the proposals, teachers from SEEU discuss topics like use of social media, interactive teaching with large number of students, quality of service, task-based language teaching, teaching about and for cultural diversity, mobile learning indicators, and student-teacher relationship.”
For the winning paper, the report concludes that: “This is an excellent study that meets all the award criteria. The paper is well written and the results are interesting with clear conclusions and recommendations. Varying methods are used and I would like to mention student research projects as especially valuable and promising. Cultural diversity is an issue for universities worldwide and the results from this project will be valuable and contribute to an important development at SEEU and beyond.”
At its meeting on 21 November, 2013, the SEEU Board announced that the Award will continue for 2013-4, with 1000 euro plus possible conference costs for the winning research paper according to the same external, anonymous evaluation process.
