Minister Saraqini, at SEEU-Skopje, presented a program for student financial support

On Thursday (Feb. 6, 2014), at South East European University, the Minister of Economy Valon Saraqini presented a program for student financial support during a working meeting with the SEEU Rector, Prof. Dr. Zamir Dika, SEEU professors, and students.

The aim of Minister Saraqini’s visit was to motivate students to apply for these program activities. By this program, which focuses on good ideas for business, students can gain financial support of up to 300 thousand denars.

The Minister noted that the deadline for applications is the 25th of February 2014, and he used this opportunity to ask professors to motivate students to apply to this call by the Ministry of Economy.

Rector Dika emphasized that SEEU continuously supports students who plan to start their own businesses and welcomed the initiative of Minister Saraqini.

“We are very interested in, and follow policies that enable, the recruitment of students, so that we are in compliance with the requirements of the market; in this regard we have established the Technology Park. For this reason, the initiative of the Ministry of Economy is in accordance with our efforts. According to our statistics, 50% of our graduates are employed in the private sector, about 40% in the public sector, while 10% of them have started own business" said the Rector.

The businessman and owner of the company "Renova", Shefki Idrizi, said that had there been such great support during his time, he would now have an even larger company.

Students and young entrepreneurs who apply to the public call for business ideas (and whose ideas will be selected and shortlisted among the 40 best candidates) will earn the right to participate in the training compound of 13 modules, in order to be able to incorporate their ideas appropriately into a business plan.
