17 May 2010“International Law and Human Rights” is the title of the essay written by Elena Andreevska, which is published as part of the book International Law: The Young Actors, New Concepts - The Continuing Dilemma, of the author Božidar Bakotić. The book is published on the occasion of the retirement of Professor Božidar Bakotić from the University of Zagreb Faculty of Law, after a long and impressive career, which he began in 1961.

Candidates for Rector of SEEU presented their programmes in the last Senate meeting
12 May 2010The four candidates for Rector of the South East European University presented their programmes in front of the Senate members in a solemn atmosphere.
The current Rector of SEEU, Academician Alajdin Abazi, in this occasion said it is important for the new decade of the University to listen to new ideas and visions by the candidates. “All that is presented before us today should be in the interest of the successful journey of this unique institution of higher education in Macedonia and the region," pointed out Rector Abazi.

Veli Kreci Publishes a Paper in the Scientific Journal Routledge Taylor
6 May 2010Public Administration and Political Science Faculty, Veli Kreci (co author) publishes a paper titled The Impact of Territorial Re-Organizational Policy Interventions in the Republic of Macedonia in the Local Government Studies journal by the Routledge Taylor and Francis Group, which is highly ranked in the ISI Social Science Citation Index http://www.tandf.co.uk/journals/titles/03003930.asp and articles appearing in this journal are abstracted and indexed in International Political Science Abstracts, British Humanities Index and other prestigious social science indexes.

"Regional Integration of the Visegrad Countries as an Example for the Western Balkan Countries for further EU Integration" was the topic of the lecture delivered at SEEU (on 28 April 2010) by the four Ambassadors of member countries of the Visegrad Group in the Republic of Macedonia: HE, Mr. Ferenc Kekesi- Republic of Hungary, HE Mr. Karl Bachura-Republic of Poland, HE Mr. Jozef Braun-Czech Republic, and Dr. Robert Kirnag –Slovak Republic. -

SEEU Alumni awarded at Dalarna University in Sweden
26 April 2010 SEEU continues to confirm its reputation as a leader in the region, offering quality education and success to its former students who continue their education or build their career in the most prestigious international universities. A concrete case for this is a former student of SEEU, Mevudin Memedi from Kumanovo who won the prize, “The Best Master Thesis for 2009,” from Dalarana University in Borlänge Sweden. -

Prof. Dr. Bekim Fetaji, after successful reviews for the ACM (Association of Computing Machinery) for the last two years, will be engaged as reviewer for the scientific research works for ACM Journal of Computer and Software Engineering and IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, starting from this year. -

International ELT Conference at SEEU successfully completed
19 April 2010On April 9, 10, and 11, the South East European University was honored to host the international academic conference, ‘From Teaching to Learning: Current Trends in ELT.’ The conference, which was a collaborative endeavor between the Language Centre and the English Department of SEEU, brought together 68 presenters from around the world.

Rector Abazi and his homologue Prof. Dr. Arta Musaraj, with their mutual visits in Tetovo and Vlora, have given a new dimension to a relationship of mutual cooperation by demonstrating the importance of academic-scientific cooperation at the university level.
