‘Through this conference we want to encourage a more serious commitment to continuous quality improvement in the delivery of knowledge. Defined goals of this conference are aimed to make a contribution to science for a more advanced system of quality management’, said among other things Rector Dika.
The conference brought together in one place academic staff of different fields, educational leaders and policy makers. The aim of the conference is to increase the quality of teaching and learning in higher education in the Republic of Macedonia.
Participants of the conference included professors from Macedonia and European universities as well as the Minister of Education of RM Pançe Kralev who appreciated the role of such conferences in the service of education in Macedonia, and promised that the ministry that he leads will support such projects.
The key note speaker of the conference was Pavel Zgaga, Professor of Educational Philosophy Educational Policy at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Prof. Dr. Thomas Olsson from the University of Lund Sweden said that “Lund University is one of Scandinavia's largest and strongest institutions for education and research. Since 1666 it has stood for excellence and innovation and it is currently ranked as a top 100 university in the world”.
The conference was aimed to be a good opportunity to share knowledge, best practices and exchange ideas.
Moreover, discussions included international rankings, results of student surveys and evaluation agencies (quality assurance) which clearly demonstrate the importance and continued focus on improving the quality of teaching and learning in higher education in the Republic of Macedonia.
The SEEU Quality Assurance Office was the organizer of the main activities of this conference.
