The Pedagogy study program (first cycle of studies) is designed to provide comprehensive theoretical and practical education in the field of pedagogy as both a scientific and applied discipline. The program aims to equip students with the skills to plan, organize, implement, and evaluate the educational process in various educational contexts, while also developing professional competencies for work as professional associates in educational institutions, social institutions, and organizations. Through this program, students are encouraged to develop critical thinking, analytical approaches, and the ability to evaluate educational phenomena and practices, as well as to acquire communication, counseling, and interpersonal skills necessary for effective collaboration with students, teachers, parents, and other stakeholders. The program also prepares students for the application of modern pedagogical methods, digital technologies, and innovative approaches in education, emphasizing ethical principles, inclusiveness, equality, and respect for diversity. An important component is the development of research skills and the use of scientific methods in analyzing and improving educational practice, as well as fostering independent learning and continuous professional development in line with the concept of lifelong learning. The program also provides a solid foundation for further academic advancement and continuation of studies at the second cycle.
Graduates of the Pedagogy study program (first cycle of studies) can build careers in various fields of education and social services, working as professional associates in educational institutions such as primary and secondary schools, kindergartens, educational centers, and non-formal education settings. They may also be employed in social institutions and organizations focused on supporting children and youth, including developmental and social inclusion centers. Their roles include pedagogical support, educational counseling, development of educational activities, and contributing to the improvement of the teaching and learning process. Furthermore, graduates may continue their studies at the second cycle in order to further specialize and advance their academic or professional careers in the field of education.
Knowledge and understanding
The graduate pedagogue possesses solid and systematic knowledge in the field of pedagogy as a scientific discipline, including the fundamental theories, concepts, and principles of the educational process. He/she has an understanding of the developmental, psychological, sociological, and didactic aspects of education, as well as the role of education in contemporary society. In addition to basic knowledge, the graduate demonstrates an understanding of modern pedagogical approaches, educational policies, and interdisciplinary connections with related sciences. He/she is capable of following scientific advancements in the field of pedagogy and understanding the relevant methodological and theoretical frameworks that support professional practice.
Applying knowledge and understanding
The graduate pedagogue is able to apply acquired theoretical knowledge and concepts in practical educational and pedagogical situations. He/she is capable of planning, implementing, and evaluating educational activities, adapting them to the age, needs, and individual differences of students and other target groups. The application of knowledge is also achieved through the use of appropriate pedagogical methods, techniques, and tools in various institutional and non-institutional contexts. The graduate demonstrates the ability to solve specific pedagogical problems based on professional judgment and ethical principles.
Making judgement
Ability to synthesize and integrate knowledge
The graduate pedagogue possesses developed skills in analyzing and evaluating pedagogical phenomena, processes, and practices. He/she is capable of analyzing relevant information, data, and research findings in order to draw well-argued conclusions and make informed decisions.
In addition, the student develops the ability for self-assessment and reflection on their own professional work. He/she is able to evaluate the effectiveness of applied educational strategies and propose improvements based on an analytical and evaluative approach.
Communication skills
The graduate pedagogue possesses appropriate communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, teachers, professional associates, and other relevant stakeholders in the educational process. He/she is able to clearly and precisely convey ideas, attitudes, and professional opinions, both orally and in writing.
Communication skills are also demonstrated through the ability to work in teams, active listening, and constructive participation in professional discussions. The graduate is trained to use appropriate professional terminology and to communicate with different target groups, adapting the mode of expression to the context and needs.
Learning skills
The graduate pedagogue possesses well-developed skills for independent learning and continuous professional development. He/she is able to identify personal needs for further knowledge and skill enhancement and to use various sources of information for this purpose.
These skills enable the graduate student to actively engage in lifelong learning and professional development. He/she demonstrates motivation to follow new scientific and practical advancements in pedagogy, as well as the ability to adapt to changes in the educational system and society.

Language and Literary Education in the Albanian Language
The course aims to develop students’ linguistic, literary, and pedagogical competencies by equipping them with theoretical and practical knowledge for the correct and functional use of the Albanian language, as well as for the analysis and interpretation of literary texts. The program seeks to foster critical and creative thinking, clear and accurate oral and written expression, and professional competencies for applying linguistic and literary knowledge in educational and cultural contexts.

Foundations of Pedagogy
Students enrolling in the course “Foundations of Pedagogy” are expected to have basic knowledge of education and upbringing, an interest in pedagogical sciences, and elementary abilities to understand key concepts related to development, teaching, and learning. Basic skills in academic reading, writing, and analysis of scholarly texts are required, along with readiness for active participation in lectures and practical classes. To successfully pass the course, students must attend classes regularly, fulfill semester requirements, demonstrate understanding of fundamental pedagogical concepts, and achieve satisfactory results in the prescribed assessment activities.

The aim of the course is that through learning from lectures, reading assigned textbooks and research articles, participating in discussions or classroom activities, and completing assignments, students will be able to: Gain knowledge of scientific achievements in the field of developmental psychology in childhood and youth, and develop skills for their practical application through programs for developmental stimulation. Recognize stereotypes toward older adults. Explain the main theories and perspectives in childhood and psychological aging. Identify different research designs and methodological issues particularly relevant when studying childhood and aging. Understand changes in sensation/perception, health, and cognition in childhood and aging. Identify how diversity (e.g., gender and ethnicity) influences the experience of aging. This course examines education as a social institution embedded in broader structures of power, culture, economy, and politics. Drawing on classical and contemporary sociological theories, the course explores how education contributes to social reproduction and social change, how inequalities are produced and contested within educational systems, and how schooling intersects with class, gender, ethnicity, religion, nationhood, and globalization. By the end of the course, students will be able to: Explain major sociological theories of education. Analyze the relationship between education and social inequality. The aim of the course is to provide students with theoretical and practical knowledge of counseling and mentoring in the educational process, as well as to enable them to plan, implement, and evaluate counseling and mentoring activities. The course aims to develop competencies in effective communication, support, and professional development of students and teaching staff, as well as an understanding of the fundamental concepts, models, and principles of these processes. Furthermore, students will be trained to apply appropriate counseling and mentoring techniques in educational contexts, to plan and conduct individual and group counseling, to analyze and evaluate the impact of mentoring on personal development, and to act professionally and ethically in counseling and mentoring practice.

Pedagogical Practice I
The aim of the course “Pedagogical Practice I” is to enable students to gain initial practical experience in teaching by applying basic theoretical and didactic knowledge in a real classroom environment, as well as to develop competencies for observing, planning, and implementing teaching activities under the supervision of mentor teachers. Upon completion of the course, students will be able to understand and apply the teaching process in accordance with theoretical concepts from pedagogy and didactics, observe and analyze teaching activities by identifying key elements of effective instruction, participate in the planning and implementation of teaching activities under mentorship, use basic tools for assessing learning and provide constructive feedback, and develop professional and ethical competencies, including communication with students, respect for rules, and responsibility in teaching practice.

Comparative Pedagogy
The aim of the course is to develop students’ knowledge and analytical competencies in the field of comparative study of educational systems, policies, and practices. The course equips students with the theoretical foundations and methodological tools necessary for analyzing educational phenomena in different national, cultural, and social contexts, with an emphasis on critical comparison, evidence-based research, and the evaluation of educational systems from an international perspective.

Research Seminar
The aim of the course is to enable students to write essays and scientific papers, developing their skills in individual and collaborative academic writing. The course also aims to equip students with knowledge of how to use references and academic citations, as well as the ability to correctly apply academic writing standards in research papers.
