The “Elementary Education”study program (first cycle of studies) aims to provide comprehensive theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of lower primary education. It prepares students for planning, organizing, and implementing the teaching process while developing competencies in the use of modern teaching methods, strategies, and techniques adapted to the developmental characteristics of young learners. The program also focuses on developing pedagogical, psychological, and didactic skills necessary for working with primary school students, as well as the ability to monitor, assess, and evaluate students’ progress. Special emphasis is placed on creating an inclusive, stimulating, and safe learning environment, as well as fostering professional ethics, responsibility, and continuous professional development. The program further promotes cooperation with parents, schools, and the wider community in the educational process.
Graduates of the “Elementary Education” (first cycle of studies) program can build careers primarily in the field of primary education, working as teachers in primary schools and basic education institutions. They may be employed in lower primary grades as general classroom teachers, responsible for planning and delivering the teaching process, assessing students, and creating an inclusive and stimulating learning environment. They can also work in non-formal educational institutions, child development centers, and community-based educational programs. With experience and further professional development, they may advance to roles such as educational coordinators, pedagogical mentors, or continue their studies at the second cycle for specialization and academic career development.
Knowledge and understanding
The student possesses specialized knowledge in the field of Elementary Education, including theories of education, didactics, curriculum, pedagogical psychology, social aspects of primary education, inclusive education, and educational policy. He/she has an in-depth understanding of the developmental characteristics of children, youth, and adults, as well as the factors that influence the educational process in different educational contexts. In addition, the graduate student understands methodological approaches for researching, evaluating, and analyzing educational practices. He/she possesses knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework of education, professional ethics in educational institutions, and the wider community.
Applying knowledge and understanding
The student is capable of applying acquired knowledge in planning, organizing, and implementing educational activities in preschool, primary, secondary, and other educational institutions. He/she is able to participate in the development and implementation of teaching and educational programs, projects, and interventions aimed at improving the quality of education. The application of knowledge is also achieved through the analysis and resolution of specific situations, using appropriate methods for counseling, monitoring, and supporting students. The graduate demonstrates the ability to adapt approaches to different sociocultural contexts, individual needs, and inclusive educational environments..
Making judgement
The student develops the ability for critical evaluation of educational processes, learning outcomes, and pedagogical interventions. He/she is capable of collecting, analyzing, and interpreting relevant data for monitoring student progress and evaluating educational programs and practices. In addition, the graduate student is able to assess their own professional work and identify areas for improvement. He/she is capable of making informed and ethically grounded decisions, taking into account educational standards, scientific knowledge, and the specific institutional context.
Communication skills
The student possesses well-developed communication skills for effective professional communication with students, parents, teachers, professional services, and other relevant actors in the education system. He/she is able to clearly, argumentatively, and professionally present their views, recommendations, and results of educational work, both orally and in writing. Communication skills also include the ability for teamwork and interdisciplinary cooperation, conducting professional discussions, and mediating in the resolution of educational and pedagogical issues. The graduate student is trained to use appropriate professional terminology and to communicate in a manner adapted to different target groups and professional situations.
Learning skills
The student possesses well-developed skills for independent, guided, and lifelong learning, enabling continuous professional development. He/she is capable of following contemporary scientific and practical advancements in Elementary Education and related fields and critically integrating them into their own professional practice. In addition, the graduate student demonstrates the ability to plan their own professional development, use various sources of knowledge, and participate in formal and informal forms of professional training. These skills enable flexibility, adaptability, and readiness for further education and career advancement.

he aim of the course is that through learning from lectures, reading assigned textbooks and research articles, participating in discussions or classroom activities, and completing assignments, students will be able to: Gain knowledge of scientific achievements in the field of developmental psychology in childhood and youth, and develop skills for their practical application through programs for developmental stimulation. Recognize stereotypes toward older adults. Explain the main theories and perspectives in childhood and psychological aging. Identify different research designs and methodological issues particularly relevant when studying childhood and aging. Understand changes in sensation/perception, health, and cognition in childhood and aging. Identify how diversity (e.g., gender and ethnicity) influences the experience of aging. The aim of the course “Pedagogical Practice I” is to enable students to gain initial practical experience in teaching by applying basic theoretical and didactic knowledge in a real classroom environment, as well as to develop competencies for observing, planning, and implementing teaching activities under the supervision of mentor teachers. Upon completion of the course, students will be able to understand and apply the teaching process in accordance with theoretical concepts from pedagogy and didactics, observe and analyze teaching activities by identifying key elements of effective instruction, participate in the planning and implementation of teaching activities under mentorship, use basic tools for assessing learning and provide constructive feedback, and develop professional and ethical competencies, including communication with students, respect for rules, and responsibility in teaching practice.

The aim of the course is to develop students’ basic musical knowledge and skills, improve their ability for vocal and instrumental musical expression, and introduce methodological approaches for working in music education. This course aims to develop students’ theoretical and practical competencies in the use of contemporary teaching models and strategies. The aim of the course is to equip students with fundamental and advanced knowledge of the principles and methods of scientific research in education, as well as to develop their skills for applying them in empirical studies and pedagogical analysis. To enroll and successfully complete this course, students must have completed introductory courses in Educational Sciences or Pedagogy, possess basic academic writing and critical reading skills, attend at least 70% of lectures and seminars, and submit the required assignments and pass the final assessment (exam/project).

Bachelor Thesis (Pedagogical Practice III)
This course represents the final stage of pedagogical training in the Elementary Education study program and aims to integrate students’ theoretical knowledge with practical teaching experience. It focuses on the development of professional competencies through independent teaching practice, classroom management, lesson planning, and reflective analysis of teaching activities. During this phase, students are expected to demonstrate their ability to apply modern pedagogical approaches, adapt instruction to pupils’ needs, and evaluate learning outcomes using appropriate assessment methods. The course also emphasizes the development of critical reflection, professional ethics, communication skills, and collaboration with mentors and school staff, preparing students for full professional engagement as primary school teachers. As part of the course requirements, students are also expected to complete and submit a bachelor thesis, which is based on their pedagogical practice and serves as an academic synthesis of their theoretical knowledge and practical teaching experience.
