Former EU Ambassador Fouere delivered a lecture on EU integration and the current reform challenges of the Western Balkan countries

“I am pleased to be here today at this university, which is an example of European integration and a reflection of a multiethnic society, and of education according to international standards," said Ambassador Fouere.

During the lecture, he assessed the challenges facing Macedonia on the path towards European integration, emphasizing particularly freedom of the media, the fight against organized crime and corruption, and the importance of the rule of law.

“Currently, Bosnia and Macedonia are ‘black holes’ of the Balkans in the EU integration process”, said the Ambassador.

In advance, Mr. Fouere, in a warm and friendly atmosphere had a meeting with the Rector Prof. Dr. Zamir Dika, where they discussed the role of the University in the country's integration processes.

The lecture of Ambassador Fouere was organized to inaugurate the Diplomatic Lecture Series organized by the “Max van der Stoel” Scientific Research Institute.
