Strengthening collaboration in South-Eastern Europe

In the context of our continual engagement to strengthen the international position and collaboration with other universities, a team of the Faculty of Contemporary Sciences and Technologies participated in the 13th workshop on “Software Engineering and Reverse Engineering Education”.

This workshop is organized as part of the project “Software Engineering - Computer Science Education and Research Cooperation”supported by DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service), and led by Prof. Klaus Bothe from Humboldt University in Germany. The project aims to cooperatively develop a joint web-based course in software engineering, and develop collaboration on research projects.

The workshop regrouped around 60 participants from universities in South-Eastern Europe. The Faculty of Contemporary Sciences and Technologies participates for the first time in this project. Our representatives in the workshop presented the South East European University with some of the best experiences and latest developments.

Prof. Dr. Betim Çiço, Dean of the Faculty of Contemporary Sciences and Technologies, presented the study program “Applied Informatics for IT Companies” in the context of the integrated studies as a new model of study which allows students to work in a company and gather real world experience while they are studying.

Dr. Adrian Besimi presented the project “Simply Visualizing Politics: voxPolitico”, with a special focus on the experience of involving undergraduate students to work in real projects.

Doc. Dr. Besnik Selimi presented results and experiences from the Technology Park as an institution for linking academia, business sector and government, facilitating transfer of technology and business skills.

This collaboration supports our continual engagement to strengthen the international position and create new collaboration opportunities with other universities.
