In his commencement address to the students, the Rector of SEEU Prof. Dr. Zamir Dika, said: “You are leaving through the doors of this university and are entering the large doors of life. However, you still will not be alone. SEEU will be a faithful companion of yours that will know how to maintain the orientation of your further pilgrimage. The spirit of this university will be within your aspiration for more experience and knowledge.”
In addition, the Rector in his message said: “Along with your diploma, you are carrying with you also the reputation of an institution that already has proven itself as quality producer of values. Let me remind you that the name and fame were not achieved by chance. It took many days and nights without sleeping to raise and maintain the project, which better than anyone else in practice verifies our Western spirit, more advanced European and US education model system. Therefore, you should feel good today, because you have also contributed that the name of the university to be extended beyond the line that creates the difference of values”.
The President of the SEEU Board, Prof. Dr. Dennis Farrington, said: “We have adopted European practices and policies which diverge significantly from the traditional model of higher education in the Republic of Macedonia. This is absolutely fundamental to the success of our university. We will remain on that path as we develop new courses and new opportunities for study in both Tetovo and Skopje.”
The OSCE Ambassador to Macedonia, H.E. Mr. Ralf Breth, noted that the South East European University which was initiated by the late OSCE High Commissioner, Max van der Stoel, made Tetovo a real academic city.
"The labour market currently is very difficult, not only in Macedonia and the region, but also beyond. My message is that you should not seek excuses, but use the opportunities offered,” said Ambassador Breth.
In holding with tradition, the best students of the generation were promoted: Liridona Veliu, Arlinda Rushiti, Herolind Ramadani, Mimoza Musliu, Mila Damjanovska, Vjosa Shaqiri, Sabri Hetemi, Majlinda Demiri, Gentijana Zhuta and Xhenisa Hasani.
