A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between SEEU and ECNWM for integrated studies with practice

The South East European University in Tetovo and the Economic Chamber of North-West Macedonia on Wednesday (5.06.2013) signed a cooperation agreement on the implementation of integrated studies with practice. The agreement was signed by partner companies Dauti Komerc, Alma-M, Vezë Sharri, ND Ballkan, Western Union and DataProgNet (Gjilan) that will offer scholarships to students who will be enrolled in the integrated study programmes.

Students that will follow these study programmes, 50 percent of teaching will be practical training in these companies, 50 percent theoretical instruction at the university and after graduation they will be involved in companies that financially have supported this project.

The Rector of South East European University in Tetovo Prof. Dr. Zamir Dika, said this is the first time that a concrete agreement is signed with well-known companies in the region in the field of education of professional staff.

“With this agreement, an opportunity has been created for students who will finish their studies at our university, because they will have insured workplace and on the other hand companies also will have adequate staff for their business activities”, said Rector Dika.

South East European University and companies together with the Economic Chamber of North-West Macedonia have understood the idea and importance of creating trained human resources for the fields which the labour market has a need, said chairman of ECNWM, Menders Kuçi.

“So far the State mechanisms have been politicized and we have not been able to act and now through this program we will help students and companies to have quality staff for better economic development in future”, said Mr. Kuçi.

For the new academic year 2013/2014 offer, the South East European University in Tetovo has prepared and accredited three integrated study programmes. They are: CONTEMPORARY BANKING MANAGEMENT, CONTEMPORARY ENTERPRISE MANAGEMENT AND APPLIED INFORMATICS FOR IT COMPANIES.

These programs were developed jointly with the German Agency for Business Cooperation (GIZ), in accordance with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Macedonia and will be offered in the SEEU Faculty of Contemporary Sciences and Technologies.
