SEEU Seminar on Curriculum, Professional and Leadership Development Programme and Quality, Efficiency and Professionalism was held in Mavrovo

SEEU held seminar what it hopes will become an annual tradition focusing on developing quality and leadership for both academic and administrative staff.

The objective was to work towards the realization of Project ‘SEEU 2.0’.

Opening the seminar, SEEU’s Rector Prof. Dr. Zamir Dika spoke about the importance of the seminar and encouraged all staff to participate actively. He said, “It is important that the University continues to strengthen its position as a leading university in the region for quality higher education.”

He stressed that, “We have a very important mission and I believe that with the human resource and infrastructure capacities that the University possesses, we can develop these processes.”

During the seminar, Faculties worked on curricula harmonization. This was a continuation of the work done earlier in the academic year when external experts in the respective fields carried out External Programme Reviews of curricula. In line with the National Qualification Framework requirements (NQF), learning outcomes were also finalized as part of the seminar.

SEEU’s Pro-rector for Academic Issues Prof. Dr. Paul Foster, said, “In the coming academic year, SEEU will have entirely harmonized curricula in line with the national, regional and international labour market needs”.

There were several related training sessions for academic staff such as producing descriptors for first and second cycle of studies in line with NQF, curriculum mapping and Faculty/Centre Risk Management linked to Action Plans.

On the third, academic and administrative staff shared a picnic and sporting activities organized by the SEEU Sport Department.

The training programme for administrative staff included a number of professional and skills development seminars, designed to strengthen professional efficiency. These included: Event Protocol, Taking Minutes in English, Filling in Forms Efficiently, Writing Professional Emails, Client Service Response, Process Management, Risk Management, Time Management, Conduct and Service Standards, and Rules and Procedures.

Through these activities, we aim to function and develop as a unique higher education institution in the region providing a high quality learning experience for students, supported by effective administration and management.
