Max van der Stoel Library Participates in International Symposium in Oslo

Representatives of South East European University participated in the International Symposium “Capacity Building in Digital Librarianship and Open Science”, held at Kristiania University College of Applied Sciences in Oslo, Norway, within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA210 project “Empowering Information Professionals through International Cooperation and Digital Competence Development”.

South East European University was represented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Nuhi Besimi (Faculty of Contemporary Sciences and Technologies – CST), Prof. Dr. Mennan Selimi (Max van der Stoel Institute), Lindita Miftari, Head of the SEEU Skopje Campus, and Elmedina Abdullahi, Head of the Max van der Stoel Library.

During the symposium, two major SEEU initiatives – AI @ SEEU and ChallengeEU – were successfully presented, together with the organizational and operational model of the Max van der Stoel Library and SEEU’s experience in organizing an international symposium in North Macedonia.

During the presentations and study visit, the delegation was honoured by the presence of Ambassador Driton Kuqi, whose support highlighted the importance of international cooperation in the fields of education and librarianship.

As part of the programme, participants conducted a professional visit to the National Library of Norway in Oslo, where they learned about best practices in preservation, digitization, and collection management. The delegation also visited the University of Oslo and the University of Oslo Library, exchanging experiences and exploring opportunities for further academic collaboration.

Participation in this symposium contributed to the exchange of expertise and the strengthening of international cooperation in the fields of digital librarianship, open science, and digital transformation in higher education.
