The forum was organized by the Liberal Alternative Institute (LAI) and South East European University (SEEU), with the support of the Economics Fundamentals Initiative (EFI) and the Open Society Foundations (OSF). The event marked an important phase in the three-year development of the Economic Education Program, transitioning from awareness-raising to institutional consolidation and digital innovation.
The forum was officially opened by Orhan Ceka, Executive Director of the Liberal Alternative Institute, who presented the impact of the Economic Education Program over the past three years. The program is implemented by the Liberal Alternative Institute in cooperation with the Economics Fundamentals Initiative from the United States.
During the opening session, Prof. Dr. Blerta Abazi-Çaushi, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics at SEEU, also addressed the audience, emphasizing SEEU’s role in promoting contemporary economic education and in connecting higher education with the needs of society and the economy.
The program featured two panel discussions focusing on modern approaches to teaching economics and the link between economic education and sustainable development, as well as a presentation of the digital platform EduSpace.
ECONLIT Forum 2025 reaffirmed SEEU’s commitment to advancing economic and financial education through academic cooperation and innovation in education.
