The purpose of this cooperation is the development, promotion, and implementation of the British Parliamentary Debate program at SEEU, within the framework of the “Practice Democracy” project, implemented by the Westminster Foundation for Democracy with the support of the British Embassy.
The program is primarily intended for students of the Faculty of Law but is also open to students from all years and faculties of the University who wish to develop their skills in critical thinking, public speaking, and structured argumentation. The experience of YEF so far shows that this program, which has already been successfully implemented for two years, provides students with unique opportunities to participate in debate competitions and academic activities at the international level.
An important element of the program is the mentoring of students during the training process and debate tournaments. SEEU students will be mentored by Faculty of Law professors, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Albana Metaj and Asst. Prof. Dr. Fjolla Kaprolli, who have already completed the training provided by the Westminster Foundation for Democracy and will lead the debate groups to be established at SEEU.
The Debate Club at SEEU will be led by the students themselves, creating a tradition of engaging new generations each year and strengthening their active participation in democratic and academic processes.
