SEEU as holder of the innovative project CORTEX2, C.A.R.E. XR in cooperation with CMC contribute to increasing public safety when dealing with natural disasters in RNM

Faculty of Contemporary Sciences and Technologies (FCST) of the South East European University (SEEU), is carrying out an important and innovative project within the series of cascade projects, financed by the Horizon 2020 program of the European Commission. This project, which won the grant from the CORTEX2 platform, is titled C.A.R.E. XR and worth 200,000 euros. Being the bearer of the project, FCST cooperates with the Crisis Management Center (CMC) in North Macedonia to develop new technological solutions that will help in the management of natural emergencies and crisis situations

Project C.A.R.E. XR aims to create an advanced Extended Reality (XR) system that will be a powerful tool for institutions and emergency teams. This technology will provide a virtual simulation environment that will assist emergency personnel in their preparation and response to dangerous and unexpected situations. Through this system, users will be able to react faster during real emergencies, enabling them to develop new skills and strategies to manage and deal with natural disasters more efficiently.

Being leaders in this project, FCST and SEEU are playing a key role in technological innovation and local capacity building in North Macedonia. Through this collaboration, the university aims to contribute to increasing public safety and strengthening communities in coping with natural crises. This new initiative is evidence of SEEU's commitment to use academic and technological knowledge to improve people's lives and contribute to the sustainable development of the region.

Coordinator of this project is Prof. Dr. Visar Shehu from the Faculty of Contemporary Sciences and Technologies.
