South East European University in collaboration with the medical high school --Nikolla Shtejn, today (March 7, 2023), with a solemn Manifestation, marked March 7-- Albanian Teacher's Day/Day of the First Albanian School. On this occasion, the students of the medical high school and SEEU students had prepared a joint artistic program. Director Binas Pajaziti and many teachers and students of the medical high school took part in this event.

In his speech, the Rector of the South East European University, Acad. Prof. Dr. Abdylmenaf Bexheti congratulated all the teachers on this special and significant holiday for all who are involved in the sacred mission of education. He, in particular, thanked the director, students and professors of medical high school for their participation and cooperation in organizing this valuable event for all of us. Rector Bexheti, in his opening remarks spoke about the importance and history of March 7, which is related to the continuous efforts of the revivalists for education in the Albanian language and described it as a very important moment to reflect on the current state of education in the Albanian language.

“These are the best moments to reflect that in today's conditions of freedom, almost ideal for our mission, it seems we are not sufficiently aware that someone was ‘melted like a candle’, as Naim Frashëri would say , to preserve and cultivate these values. For us as an educational institution, March 7 - Day of the First Albanian School - has an even more specific meaning: it marks the new beginning of raising national consciousness through education and training" said among other things in his address Rector Bexheti.

In his paper, the Dean of the Faculty of Languages, Cultures and Communication, Prof. Dr. Demush Bajrami highlighted some important historical moments that led to the opening of the first Albanian school.

“March 7 elevates the idea for emancipation and culture and at same time raises education to this level, Albanians together with other peoples managed to walk the path of progress, not only in the Balkans, but also beyond" said Dean Bajrami, among other things.

This event was moderated by SEEU student Anisa Bexheti, while a poetic performance had student Ajeta Dauti and a group of students from the medical high school led by professors Rudina Zeqiri and Xhezmi Saliu.
