The conference was opened by the SEEU Rector, Acad. Prof. Dr. Abdylmenaf Bexheti, who spoke on the topic "Green Economy".
"Our dilemma when we decided to define the topic of the conference was whether we are prepared to produce scientific papers on the main topic. We discussed this issue at the Faculty Council and my suggestion was that we should start from something in order to promote this, even though we are late compared to world trends, especially in Western Europe. For this purpose we have invited highly respected speakers, such as Prof. Duic from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering", said Rector Bexheti, in his opening speech.
The role of universities is key in addressing this issue and needs, and the task of politics and public institutions is to do what they can. Science and politics must cooperate and find a compromise in order to choose the most appropriate model of green economy, noted among others Rector Bexheti.
Rector Bexheti presented a summary of empirical data on the current situation in the country, the region and world level in terms of activities that are undertaken by international institutions and organizations, with special emphasis on North Macedonia and the region.
