SEEU and the National Bank will design new study programs on macroeconomic policies and the monetary and financial system

The creation of new quality staff in the field of macroeconomics and finance and the advancement of research activity was the main goal of the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the South East European University (SEEU) and the National Bank of North Macedonia, which took place today (6th April 2022), on the University Campus in Tetovo.

The memorandum was signed by the Rector of the South East European University, Acad. Prof. Dr. Abdylmenaf Bexheti and Governor of the National Bank, Anita Angelovska Bezhoska. Deputy Governor Fadil Bajrami was also part of the National Bank delegation that visited SEEU.

"SEEU is aware of the educational and research role in human and social capital, maintains and develops the growing commitment to contribute to the most important and challenging component at the moment, that of human resources, not only in quantitative terms, but above all in the qualitative one, as well as determining the necessary profiles with specific knowledge of the labor market” said Rector Bexheti.

The SEEU Faculty of Business and Economics has been implementing the practice with visiting field lecturers for years, especially with experts from the National Bank, but today we formalize the existing cooperation with concrete activities, where the National Bank staff and SEEU academics will give a concrete contribution to the design of new study programs for the needs of macroeconomic policy, monetary and financial system, which will be realized through the organization of meetings, round tables, consultations and other forms of cooperation.

"This proves once again the strong determination of the University to offer quality study programs based on solid analysis and supported by the wider community and relevant institutions in the country" noted Rector Bexheti.

"Through cooperation with higher education institutions, such as the South East European University, we want to create a synergy, through which our employees will be supportive of their main goal - the educational activity, while SEEU professors will support us in a part of our research. The National Bank, as an institution that performs research and analytical work, is building partnerships that will contribute in this direction" said the governor Anita Angelovska Bezhoska.

The memorandum envisages the engagement of National Bank experts in the capacity of guest lecturers at the South East European University, the involvement of students for conducting internships programs at National Bank and several other joint activities.
