The seminar is organized by the Faculty of Contemporary Sciences and Technologies, where in addition to presenters from the university, two international scholars are participating also, Prof. Heiko Schuldt from the University of Basel and Dr. Ilir Fetai, Senior Software Architect at Swiss Railways.
Rector of South East European University, Acad. Prof. Dr Abdylmenaf Bexheti, in his welcoming address, said that the SEEU is among the only ones in the region that has established a tradition of investing in research.
“The total amount that the University allocates for research is 10 times higher than the national average and our goal is to become a regional research centre”, said Rector Bexheti.
The Pro-rector for Research and International Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Besa Airifi, said that the University is honored with the presence of international presenters, by emphasizing the importance of international research and cooperation, which are strategic priorities of the university.
Dean of the Faculty of Contemporary Sciences and Technologies, Prof. Dr. Adrian Besimi, thanked the staff engaged for the successful organization of this seminar and emphasized that the primary goal is for the staff and doctoral students to share and benefit from the experience of international presenters.
Professor Heiko Schuldt presented his work on topic: Current Advantages in Big Data Processing, where he presented the advantages in this field by using big databases in various fields of human activity.
Dr. Ilir Fetai, presented about Application of Artificial Intelligence in Swiss Railways, where he showed concrete cases that are currently applied in this company.
Their works in the seminar presented Prof. Mennan Selimi, Prof. Bujar Raufi, Prof. Adrian Besimi, Prof. Visar Shehu and doctoral students.
In the seminar are presented papers in all major fields of the Computer Science and Information Technology in theoretical and practical aspects.
The seminar aims to provide a platform to the PhD students, researchers and practitioners from both academia and in the future for industry to meet and share recent developments in the field.
