SEEU opens its doors for high school graduates

“We together, staff and students, aim for the realization of the project ‘SEEU 3.0’, which envisions personalized approaches according to individual requirements in the larger context of a shared vision for development—one that is customized for the digital generation” the Rector of South East European University, Prof. Dr. Zamir Dika. Prof. Dika spoke in a press conference that was held on Tuesday (7th April 2015), as part of the ceremonies marking the University Open Day.

High school graduates, parents, teachers and all interested parties experienced on Open Day the opportunity to become closely acquainted with the academic offerings of South East European University (SEEU) for the new academic year 2015/2016. They were also invited to observe all the associated infrastructure that the university possesses for international standardized studies.

Rector Dika added that “the University has an obligation to provide new generations with capacities, skills and knowledge to compete in the global labour market. So, the new realities in Southeast Europe necessarily would have to change the present and the future of this region—through advanced university knowledge—by turning it into a story of success.”

“Studying at South East European University (SEEU) means to study in an attractive, promising and highly responsive environment of university education. First of all, here the generations that will come to study will be prepared with appropriate knowledge for the labour market and only in study programmes that SEEU offers can one celebrate the regional academic and cultural differences", Rector Dika remarked.

The Rector’s Advisor, Demush Bajrami, said in the central presentation: “This year, the University will, for the first time, award scholarships to excellent students without testing; Direct scholarships are based on the success in high school and students with a cumulative GPA of 5.00 will gain full scholarship, which covers 50 percent of the tuition fee. Those students who have a cumulative GPA over 4.5, but lower than 5.0, will earn a scholarship which will cover 30 percent of the tuition fee. In addition to this, prospective students will have other financial supports, through various programmes provided by the international community and business community. The SEEU Work and Study Programme is a unique experience, where in addition to financial facilitation, students gain work experience in the University services; and financial relief for the 2nd and 3rd student from the same family".

As part of this day-long Open Day celebration there were also held numerous other activities, such as a Language Fair organized by the SEEU Language Centre, Student Parliament activities and a rich cultural and entertainment programme.
