Academic and Administrative Staff Professional Development Programme was held

From Tuesday through Thursday (20-23 January) the academic and administrative staff of South East European University continued the traditional annual staff professional development programme.

Within these training activities the following topics were addressed: Monitoring of student assessment, University Peer Monitoring System, How to improve the success of second cycle studies and new teaching and learning techniques, Student-Centred Learning, the new requirements of the Law on HE, etc.

In his opening remarks, the Rector of South East European University, Prof. Dr. Zamir Dika, focused on the achievements of the university, as well as adapting the University to the new changes caused by the Law on Higher Education.

“Most amendments are planned to be implemented by September of this year and the University must harmonize curricula with these changes" said Rector Dika.

“Our University has consistency in all aspects, but the main challenge remains maintaining the standards and mission of the University while facing the legal and social changes that occur in Macedonia and the region”, said Rector Dika.

It is worth mentioning the Keynote speech, on the topic of ‘Monitoring of student assessment,’ was read by a Professor Emeritus from the Indiana University, Bernd Fischer, who spoke about the best American and European practices of this evaluation.

The Executive Advisor for Performance and Quality, Heather Henshaw, managed the training programme.

A special training session was held for website management, where authorized persons for management of the web content for faculties and centres attended.

Trainings were conducted in separate sessions, tailored to the needs of academic and administrative staff.
