The traditional SEEU staff training was held in Struga

Within in the programme for staff development and training, from 19th to 21st August, South East European University staff stayed in Struga, where trainings in different fields by renowned internal and external experts were held.

In his presentation, the SEEU Rector, Prof. Dr. Zamir Dika, stressed the importance of quality and the need to prepare staff, which will follow the global technological developments.

He presented his vision for the university development, stressing the key parts of his programme. Rector Dika said that in the next four years will be focused towards the academic offer and cohesion with the labour market expectations. “I think that the university has created a sustainable system to create academic offer that dynamically follows the developments of the labour market, ". Also, according to him, the evaluation of study programs in cycles of three years from international professors contributes to maintain international standards of designing study programmes that highlight the knowledge, skills and competencies, based on the results of work.

Prof. Dr. Elena Dumova, presented the Contemporary Research Profile, comparing the global scientific trends.

Heather Henshaw, Executive Advisor for Quality was in charge for the organization of the University staff training.

Within the administration training programme several workshops were held as such Overview of past and future priorities,Organizational behaviour and effective administration, Action Planning – successes, challenges, priorities.

Within the academic training programme several workshops were held as such: Contemporary Research Profile; The development and future of Third Cycle Studies and the Doctoral School – achievements and challenges; Assessment Overview and update; University and business interface – contemporary challenges.

Staff training takes place every year and aims continuous development and further qualitative strengthening of the staff. Training topics derived from the self-assessment procedure, which is completed annually by each staff member. This is the fourth time that for the entire staff of the South East European University is organized joint training outside the university campus.
