SEEU signed a partnership agreement with the business sector for the development of integrated studies

On Wednesday (9 July 2014) South East European University and seven well-known companies from Macedonia signed a partnership agreement for the realization of the Integrated Study Programme--Contemporary Enterprise Management.

The following companies signed the agreement: “Dauti –Komerc”, “Princ Enterprise”, “Alma-M”,“Vezë Sharri”, “ND-Ballkan”, “Renova”, and “Korabi”. Later agreements for two other programmes--Contemporary Banking Management and Applied Informatics for Information Technology Companies--will be signed. In this case, the companies will award scholarships for students who will be selected to continue their studies in these programmes.

The Rector of South East European University, Prof. Dr. Zamir Dika, spoke about the importance of integrated studies for the companies, because in the future they will have adequate staff to develop their businesses. "Today’s event shows the serious cooperation that we are developing with the business sector, by realizing concrete projects" said Rector Dika.

The German expert engaged by the South East European University for the integrated studies, Norbert Marx, spoke about the organization of these studies, the enrolment procedure and the structure of the integrated study program: Contemporary Enterprise Management.

The signing of this agreement was greeted by the President of the Economic Chamber of North-West Macedonia, Menderes Kuçi.

“The essence of these specific programmes lies in the fact the learning materials are offered through practical application. Teaching and learning processes will be developed in two parts and that is why these are called Dual Studies in the academic environment, i.e. one part will be delivered at our university (the theoretical part) and the other part at practice partner companies (the practical part)”, said Demush Bajrami, the Rector’s Advisor and moderator of this event.

The student Fatih Mici presented his experience on the progress of this programme and spoke about the advantages offered, and he recommended to others that they enrol in this programme because employment and professional development are guaranteed.

Owners and representatives of signatory companies held a constructive discussion, in which they presented the mutual experiences of student engagement and the quality that they show during practice and studies.

These programmes are developed together with the German Agency for Business Cooperation (GIZ), in accordance with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Macedonia and will be offered in the Faculty of Contemporary Sciences and Technologies.
