The winners of the first prize for Kodu Cup Macedonia 2014 were the team from the high school ‘Rade Korçagin’-Skopje; second place went to the team from the school ‘Jane Sandanski”- Strumica; and the winners of the third place were the team from the gymnasium of Dibra.
In this programme 84 teachers from high schools were trained. This training of the teachers was undertaken by two SEEU professors from the Faculty of Contemporary Sciences and Technologies, Arben Hajra and Visar Shehu.
The Rector of South East European University, Prof. Dr. Zamir Dika, said that he was satisfied with this joint project, as it forms a very important triangle of cooperation uniting SEEU, high schools and the world-famous company Microsoft.
“SEEU is committed, from the establishment of its mission, to create graduates who will be prepared not only with the necessary knowledge, but also with skills that are in high demand in the European labour market. SEEU will continue to support such initiatives in the future” said Rector Dika.
“Projects like this are very important, since there is a close link between innovation and technology and innovation and the economy. Innovation and technology effect the economic development of the country," said a representative of the U.S. Embassy in Skopje, Ryan Storm.
The Director of Microsoft Macedonia, Stefan Pavljanski, thanked South East European University for opening the doors for this very important competition. The university from its establishment has been a model of higher education in Macedonia and has managed to become a leader in investments in technology.
“The aim of this competition is to change the communication in teaching through technology,” said Mr. Pavljanski.
The presentation of the aims and main activities for the competition Kodu Cup Macedonia 2014was given by Vlora Ademi, manager of academic programmes in Microsoft for Macedonia and Kosovo. SEEU professor Adrian Besimi also spoke about the evaluation process of the Kodu games.
