The day of the Career Fair coincides with the eve of this significant day. There are many reasons for 'Europe Day' to be observed in Macedonia, especially at our University, because celebrations of this day should remind us about the European spirit of our institutions. Europe is not only a geographical concept, but a philosophy, a mindset and a vision.
“Today, 64 years later, we are facing a new reality that has integrated Europe not only in economic and social spheres, but also in the labour market and in modern education. Today, the European Union claims that higher education should be in the centre of transformation of the European economy in to
the world's most powerful economy, based on knowledge. This implies an obligation for us to create standards and quality in order to meet these aspirations, "said the Rector of South East European University, Prof. Dr. Zamir Dika. In this context, he underlined that education is both an integral part of economic and social policies, and also an instrument for increasing the competitiveness of a company ; education is alsoa guarantee for ensuring social cohesion and individual development of citizens.
“Higher education and universities have an obligation and a duty to provideand ensure for new generations capacities, skills and knowledge to compete in the global labour market. So the new realities in Eastern Europe would necessarily have to change the present and future of this region, transforming the Balkans into a success story as part of the great European family ", said Rector Dika.
