Applying knowledge and understanding: The student is able to apply their knowledge in a variety of communicative situations and respond with a high dose of linguistic precision on various topics of debate. It has the knowledge to ask and express, confront and speculate ideas, offers and challenge ideas, and suggest ideas. Communication skills: The student is able to initiate and retain a discussion with a satisfactory dose of tangle. He/she has knowledge and competence to write a well-organized paragraph, and well-organized written correspondence. The student has developed skills which enable effective reading. Assessment: The student is capable of using rules different grammatical forms, such as times, verbal constructions, idioms and others. He / she is capable of expressing well-organized thoughts on various topics of debate. Learning skills: Students have developed skills for independent learning through various interactive tools.   Course objectives: • Knowledge and understanding of students: • Use of previous studies poetry and prose of critical approach towards different plays; • Connecting development of English drama with historical and the cultural background they have made. Applying knowledge and understanding: • Use of appropriate critical terminology in writing and speaking; • Checking the great features and the specific details of the field. Making judgment: • Analyse the dramatic works as literary works and as performance; • Detecting, analysing and interpreting the major differences between great playwrights. Communication skills: • Reads the original works in English; • Compares research and writes an essay with the same presentation order with colleagues; • Forms, performances, support of critical opinions of the text in discussions with the instructor and peers. Learning skills: • Reads the works as a text and as a performance; • Appropriate hour discussion, personal interpretation and independent research essay; • Use of informational performance, influence and deep textual understanding.

  The subject aims to enable students to use language skills in the context of academic writing which includes writing an academic paragraph essay and essays that explain the problem and offer a solution to compare and contrast situations and problems and justify thesis or opinion. Furthermore, students should be able to listen and read and understand the essence and details, and to successfully write a paragraph and an essay in which you argue their opinions. They should express their views and opinions by justifying it in a given paragraph or essay. They also need to organize their ideas and to successfully write a paragraph and essay that explain the problem and propose a solution, which provides details, facts and arguments, quoted and cited sources. They should be able to identify main ideas and details in the text, objectives and messages of text, as well as ways of organizing text and apply in writing. In advanced stages, the students are expected to switch to writing more complex academic tasks, such as academic paper with a literature review, research, conclusions and recommendations.

  The course focuses on the basic phonological concepts, like the inventory and distribution of English phonemes, allophones, their characteristics, the morph-phonology, the syllable structure and the syllable characteristics. It also focuses on the acoustic, articulatory, and auditive phonetics, including description and classification of English consonants, and simple and complex vowels.

    Albanian Language course for beginners 1, 2 is prepared with the purpose to enable the students, who do not have basic knowledge of the Albanian language, to get to know the characteristics of this language, to gain knowledge of the linguistic structure of the Albanian language, and to extend and apply their knowledge in everyday situations. Correspondingly, they will gain knowledge of the structure of the Albanian language; They will also acquire a modest set of various lexical and grammatical categories which will enable them cary out simple conversations.

The material is processed under the principle of combined lectures and exercises, and continuous tasks through which students are actively involved during class and participate with their questions and suggestions.

    The programme Macedonian Language for beginners 2 includes: reading, writing, listening and speaking activities. In this course the following issues are covered: daily routines, planning activities for the next period, description of persons, places and objects. When we created this program we took into the consideration that students can apply the acquired knowledge further.

    The curriculum for Macedonian Language intermediate level 1 includes: reading, writing, listening and speaking through which the students: will enrich the vocabulary through appropriate texts for daily activities (in a bank, in a library, in a ministry, etc.) and will improve the skills for professional writing and speaking that are necessary for clear and effective communication in their further professional career. A special, continuous emphasis on the overall activity is placed on the linguistic elements, that is, on the spelling and grammar of the Macedonian standard language. Experts as one of the key elements for good written expression state the correct use of language.
  • [MLIL-02] Macedonian Language Intermediate Level 2
    The curriculum for Macedonian Language intermediate level 2 includes: reading, writing, listening and speaking. Special emphasis is placed on the development of students' communication skills, or the use of language in daily activities and professional context, enriching the vocabulary and acquiring knowledge about the structure and types of professional texts. Different communication styles will be covered, with the goal being for students to establish good communication with the audience through their texts and to attract and retain their attention.

    Upon completion of the course Macedonian for Professional Purposes 1, students are expected to broaden and strengthen their abilities for more advanced written and oral expression in Macedonian in the context of the different professional settings. They are also expected to acquire knowledge and skills about the general terminology from the field of law, business and economy, administration, computer sciences, language and communication and to be able to use that terminology in the framework of their future professions. Besides accomplishing these professional aims, students are expected to become more autonomous language learners and be able to think critically about different topics in a multilingual and multicultural environment.

    Upon completion of the course, Macedonian for professional purposes 2, students are expected to reconfirm and expand further their abilities for advanced written and oral expression in Macedonian, in the context of their future professions.   The course is concentrated on the morphological characteristics of the English language. It also includes the grammatical categories and other word functions of the student’s mother tongue such as nouns, pronouns, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, the definite and indefinite articles, conjunction, numbers and exclamation. Special attention is paid to the form and function of the above-mentioned parts of speech.

  This course examines one of the major literary cultures of the English language: the writing of Ireland. It does not study writing in the Irish language. The course studies one of the major countries and cultures contributing to English-language literature in the world.

  In this course students will enrich their linguistic experiences in terms of: Communication skills: Sending account, buying things, telling experiences, contrasting ideas, expressing feelings, follow discourse; and make corresponding proposals, expressing probability, advantages / disadvantages, deciding on food / drinks, and expresses agreement/ disagreement. Applying knowledge: Approving ideas; expressing annoyance / sympathy, making deductions, suggestions, accepting / rejecting / deciding; giving compliments, alternatives; making assumptions; producing more grammatically and stylistic correct sentences that demonstrate proper use of passive verb forms. Making judgment: Reviewing writing, reading and listening, main details, research on investigations, trends in different contexts, using appropriate language in a given situation, including academic and social expressions.   The course investigates the methods, techniques, approaches and theories of translation. It gives instructions for successful translation and at the same time it gives instructions for uninterrupted interpretation. The focus is on translating literary texts like prose and poems, other documents are analysed and translated like newspaper articles, official documents and professional texts from the field of business, law, and administration. The course also examines the ethic, morale, and responsible translation.

  This course introduces students to the field of second language acquisition (SLA). Students get a good basis of the SLA theory and training for the most recent methodological aids in this field. A considerable amount of time will be devoted to the similarities and differences between the acquisition of the mother tongue and the foreign language, and students will have an opportunity to reflect on their own learning experiences. The included topics are the process of SLA, the influence of the learner’s age, motivation, attitude, aptitude, individual learning strategies in this process, the role of the mother tongue and the foreign language in learning, communication skills, errors and error analysis, critical period hypothesis, strategy training.

  The course introduces new information related to teaching vocabulary in the EFL classroom. It includes a description of how vocabulary is learned, how it is used in speaking and writing, and discussions for the current best practices of teaching vocabulary. Specific questions related to this course are what it means to know a word, how many words are there, which words should be learned, explicitly against the random learning of vocabulary, the importance of reading in learning vocabulary, strategies for learning vocabulary, vocabulary teaching techniques and vocabulary testing.

  This aims to introduce students to the essentials of teaching English as a foreign language as well as to the fundamentals of lesson planning and classroom management. Through these exercises the students will gain experience in giving and handling feedback on others’ and their own teaching performance. The students will be also asked to reflect on every unit in order to increase and develop their critical thinking skill as a very important skill in teaching. Various teaching activities for teaching young learners will be introduced to the students in order to help them implement in their future teaching career.

    The struggle for human rights begins with the historic efforts to identify them. Over the time, the corpus of rights and freedoms that are incriminated by laws or international treaties is expanding but it certainly does not prove that the same are respected in practice. Human rights at the first were considered as internal matters of states (under the principle of absolute sovereignty of states) and only in more recent times have gained the title of jus cogens norms. This course will study how to develop doctrine on human rights, types and categories of human rights and will be studied the relevant documents that regulate certain rights. The purpose of this course is: to introduce students to the concept of international law on human rights, implementation of the same, influence in the formulation of national policies; This will encourage students to critically reflect on the relationship between international law and national law; make them aware of current international events, how they affect the daily lives of people in the world; encourage students to contribute in matters of drafting laws for the protection of human rights.

  • [EARTL-01] Assisted Reproductive Technology and Law
    This course aims to emphasize the fact that in the modern society, there is no one universal, generally accepted model of family and parenting. By studying the subject ‘Assisted reproductive technology and Law’, students will gain knowledge about new artificial reproductive technologies that are part of the contemporary natal policy. In more detail, students will be introduced to all artificial reproductive technologies, such as artificial insemination, in vitro fertilization, surrogate motherhood, the birth of children from a woman with sperm donation, posthumous reproduction, co-parenting, ’three parent’ baby technique, cryopreservation of gametes or embryos. Students will have the opportunity to be informed that there are many other opportunities offered by science but are forbidden, for example, cloning, gender selection, improvement of the physical, intellectual or other capacities (eugenics) of the future child, etc. By studying this course students are expected to develop their critical thinking by debating the complex set of moral, ethical and legal dilemmas regarding these new reproductive technologies.

    Domestic violence is a social phenomenon of wide scale and widespread in contemporary society. It is present in all states and societies regardless of their development and emancipation. Immune to this phenomenon is neither our country nor the region in which we live. Therefore, law students through this course gain knowledge of what is domestic violence, the forms in which it is manifested, the legal arrangements in the country, the region and the international sphere as well as the ways of preventing it. Through this course, students at the end of the course will be able to identify domestic violence, identify criminal offenses that are incriminated in the Criminal Code as domestic violence, and develop critical thinking about this problematic. This course enables the future jurisdiction to handle issues of this sphere of high sensitivity as well as to provide the most adequate assistance and protection for the victims of these criminal offenses in the exercise of his future profession as a judge, prosecutor or lawyer.

    The course, Albanian language and writing culture, is a synthesis of rules and guidelines for improvement of the skills for written and oral expression in Albanian. Students are expected to improve these skills by becoming familiar with the spelling and punctuation rules, some morphological norms, as well as the Albanian syntax, all in order to achieve proper use of the language. An accent will be put on motivating them for fluent speaking and raising their awareness for use of the Albanian pure standard language. A special attention will also be paid to encouraging students to advance the process of writing and increasing their understanding about the differences between specific genres. The issue of academic integrity (plagiarism) will also be tackled, as well as the specific terminology of the different areas of specialization. All these topics will be offered as separate lessons, that is, as rules, guidelines and exercises, which complement each other.

    The purpose of the course is for students to get acquainted with the Italian culture, the Italian civilization and the Italian language. The idea is for students to know a slightly different reality, which may help them to become aware of themselves, as well as in creating a better picture for themselves and for their future. Corresponding to the level (from A1 to B2), which students choose, or the levels that they will follow in the semesters they have at their disposal for a free elective subject, the matter progresses deeper. The first level starts from basic settings such as: orthography (spelling), pronunciation, vocabulary for managing simple, everyday language situations (personal presentation, presentation of others, orientation in space and in time, communication expressions in a bar, restaurant, supermarket, on the market), and it is reaching more complex constructions in the continuing stages, which refer to the expression of attitude, desire, need, telling past events, talking about future actions, etc. Grammar is introduced inductively (through awareness of situations (audio recordings, videos, films, various texts) and conclusions), in which the students themselves playing the key role, with their active participation in the lectures.

    In this course, students’ academic writing skills will be enhanced in a variety of ways. In addition, students will be introduced to paraphrasing and citing rules as well as will be made aware of what plagiarism is. Giving feedback on students’ pieces of writing will involve self-correction, peer-correction and teacher-correction of content, organization and language errors.

This course also focuses on preparing classes: creating lesson plans for the young people, classroom management and assessing the young learners (grades, feedback). This course investigates the activities during a class from a communicative aspect.

  This course aims to introduce the basic principles needed to prepare and apply in modern academic courses. By getting introduced to these principles, students can differentiate between the different types of courses depending on students’ needs and needs of the market. A very important element in this process is the verification of the validity and reliability of the instruments used in the process of evaluation and preparation of the course. The implementation of the standard principles known to the academy and pedagogy is important too.

  The course aims to help students explore further English Language teaching. This will help students to apply principles of language teaching methods and approaches to lesson planning by giving a mini-lesson presentation. The students will also have a chance to develop teaching materials and units of work, solve teaching problems, and participate in and reflect on classroom observation and give feedback to their peers. By the end of the course, the students will be exposed to different techniques of EFL which can be used in different learning environments and on developing their critical thinking skills which can help them use in their future teaching career.

  This course is intended to prepare the students for teaching EFL/ESL practice to students in a secondary school through workshop(s), observations of experienced teacher in action, and classroom practicum working with actual learners of English. All these activities are done to help the students develop their own teaching philosophy.     The struggle for human rights begins with the historic efforts to identify them. Over the time, the corpus of rights and freedoms that are incriminated by laws or international treaties is expanding but it certainly does not prove that the same are respected in practice. Human rights at the first were considered as internal matters of states (under the principle of absolute sovereignty of states) and only in more recent times have gained the title of jus cogens norms. This course will study how to develop doctrine on human rights, types and categories of human rights and will be studied the relevant documents that regulate certain rights. The purpose of this course is: to introduce students to the concept of international law on human rights, implementation of the same, influence in the formulation of national policies; This will encourage students to critically reflect on the relationship between international law and national law; make them aware of current international events, how they affect the daily lives of people in the world; encourage students to contribute in matters of drafting laws for the protection of human rights.

    The course purpose is to provide the basic knowledge of legal writing and justification to the first-year students. In this course, there will be gained knowledge for the legal writing and reasoning principles and basic guidelines for it, by applying the various methods of legal writing of normative legal acts (regulations, laws, decisions, judgments, contracts, wills etc.) and acts (CV, claim, competition, application, notification, plaint etc.).
  • [EARTL-01] Assisted Reproductive Technology and Law
    This course aims to emphasize the fact that in the modern society, there is no one universal, generally accepted model of family and parenting. By studying the subject ‘Assisted reproductive technology and Law’, students will gain knowledge about new artificial reproductive technologies that are part of the contemporary natal policy. In more detail, students will be introduced to all artificial reproductive technologies, such as artificial insemination, in vitro fertilization, surrogate motherhood, the birth of children from a woman with sperm donation, posthumous reproduction, co-parenting, ’three parent’ baby technique, cryopreservation of gametes or embryos. Students will have the opportunity to be informed that there are many other opportunities offered by science but are forbidden, for example, cloning, gender selection, improvement of the physical, intellectual or other capacities (eugenics) of the future child, etc. By studying this course students are expected to develop their critical thinking by debating the complex set of moral, ethical and legal dilemmas regarding these new reproductive technologies.
  • [ELE-408] Domestic Violence
    Domestic violence is a social phenomenon of wide scale and widespread in contemporary society. It is present in all states and societies regardless of their development and emancipation. Immune to this phenomenon is neither our country nor the region in which we live. Therefore, law students through this course gain knowledge of what is domestic violence, the forms in which it is manifested, the legal arrangements in the country, the region and the international sphere as well as the ways of preventing it. Through this course, students at the end of the course will be able to identify domestic violence, identify criminal offenses that are incriminated in the Criminal Code as domestic violence, and develop critical thinking about this problematic. This course enables the future jurisdiction to handle issues of this sphere of high sensitivity as well as to provide the most adequate assistance and protection for the victims of these criminal offenses in the exercise of his future profession as a judge, prosecutor or lawyer.

    The course, Albanian language and writing culture, is a synthesis of rules and guidelines for improvement of the skills for written and oral expression in Albanian. Students are expected to improve these skills by becoming familiar with the spelling and punctuation rules, some morphological norms, as well as the Albanian syntax, all in order to achieve proper use of the language. An accent will be put on motivating them for fluent speaking and raising their awareness for use of the Albanian pure standard language. A special attention will also be paid to encouraging students to advance the process of writing and increasing their understanding about the differences between specific genres. The issue of academic integrity (plagiarism) will also be tackled, as well as the specific terminology of the different areas of specialization. All these topics will be offered as separate lessons, that is, as rules, guidelines and exercises, which complement each other.

They will also work towards producing essays treating the issues of cultural relativism, stereotypes, prejudices, as well as the development of concepts like intercultural cooperation and multicultural education. Applying knowledge and Understanding: Creating educational models for multicultural cooperation and their application in the process of teaching English as a second language. Developing an educational strategy that would prove successful in situations where there might be tensions among students due to the lack of tolerance. In addition, students are expected to become more aware of the stereotypes that society has for different cultures and as a result will better understand their place in the global community. The students will start thinking critically about topics related to their ethnicity, gender identity, class, religion, national origin, age and other demographic characteristics and their impact on the communication process. After finishing Intercultural Studies, the students will also gain communication skills for working in groups through participation in research projects and will acquire the necessary skills to present their research projects.

    The purpose of the course is for students to get acquainted with the Italian culture, the Italian civilization and the Italian language. The idea is for students to know a slightly different reality, which may help them to become aware of themselves, as well as in creating a better picture for themselves and for their future. Corresponding to the level (from A1 to B2), which students choose, or the levels that they will follow in the semesters they have at their disposal for a free elective subject, the matter progresses deeper. The first level starts from basic settings such as: orthography (spelling), pronunciation, vocabulary for managing simple, everyday language situations (personal presentation, presentation of others, orientation in space and in time, communication expressions in a bar, restaurant, supermarket, on the market), and it is reaching more complex constructions in the continuing stages, which refer to the expression of attitude, desire, need, telling past events, talking about future actions, etc. Grammar is introduced inductively (through awareness of situations (audio recordings, videos, films, various texts) and conclusions), in which the students themselves playing the key role, with their active participation in the lectures.

    In this course, students’ academic writing skills will be enhanced in a variety of ways. Students will be enabled to communicate their ideas in a clear, fluent and effective way in order to produce a piece of writing. Students’ academic writing skills will be developed through activities that promote writing such as writing different types of paragraphs and essays. In addition, students will be introduced to paraphrasing and citing rules as well as will be made aware of what plagiarism is. Giving feedback on students’ pieces of writing will involve self-correction, peer-correction and teacher-correction of content, organization and language errors.

    Digital and Online Literacy is a one-semester course meeting 3 class hours per week, offered in the undergraduate studies. The course is designed according to students’ needs and it includes several 21-century skills related to using technology appropriately and effectively. By the end of the course students will be able to search for and access online information successfully using variety of digital tools, critically evaluate the reliability of online resources and distinguishing between credible and untrustworthy sources, demonstrate understanding of ethical issues related to academic context, understand proper referencing in order to avoid plagiarism, learn how to effectively communicate in a professional manner, understand the basics of being safe online and the positive and negative aspects of creating an online identity, investigate cyber bullying and identify possible solutions for reducing online harassment.

Conversational English will build students’ listening and speaking skills, providing grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and fluency practice needed for common types of spoken English interactions. This course will cover topics related to professional conversation, casual conversation, and everyday interactions, providing students with conversational confidence in a variety of contexts. Professional conversation will include formal and polite varieties of speech used in contexts such as work meetings or discussions with colleagues. Casual conversation will include practice with language used while socializing with friends or family and other informal situations and will include slang and informal speech. Everyday interactions will include conversations at stores, during travel, and asking for or providing assistance. Methods of learning will focus on practice and will include listening activities, dialogues, role-plays and simulations, debates, and discussions.

  This course offers an analysis of issues in ELT from a linguistic as well as cultural/social perspective. On the linguistics side, topics covered include the social, cultural and the structural aspects of language contact, and interlanguage, and a detailed investigation of the linguistic impact of language contact in the process of foreign language learning. It considers the role linguistic and extra linguistic factors which govern the internal development of linguistic systems that is the role of L1 (learner mother tongue) in the process of the development of L2 (target language). On the cultural/social side, this course is designed to immerse you in controversies that the system of education and teacher training faces today. Current topics in the field of ELT are explored and students are encouraged to evaluate how these issues relate to the pedagogical norms and practices of language education. This analysis will serve to emphasize challenges and obstacles that foreign language teachers face and to identify relevant issues for teachers in the domains of cognitive processes, multicultural education and critical pedagogy.

  The course will examine the process of learning and using a second language. Research in second language acquisition (SLA) is multi-disciplinary in nature, reflecting the complex nature of adult language learning and use. Linguistic, psychological and social processes that underlie language(s) learning and use will be introduced and current research findings will be examined from the perspective of both the language teaching professional and the SLA researcher. Students will gain an insight into the complexity of the process of second language acquisition, language processing and language use. They will be able to develop a critical approach to SLA theories and motivation for carrying out independent research in this field.

    The aim of this course is to provide an integrated model of language description that is designed to suit the needs of learners of English. Students will be introduced to the variety of techniques which will prepare them to participate in academic texts in English. The included topics are writing genres, types of research in academic writing, writing style, in-text citing, understanding and using argument, discussion of results and developing topic.

    This course deals mainly with the grammatical, structural and pedagogical analysis of texts (written or spoken). It aims to cover elements of texts like grammar, pattern and style. Students will familiarise themselves with major topics in the field of textual and discourse analysis and in the process, they will strengthen essential skills in how to write, evaluate and improve texts, both written and spoken. Additionally, this course will help the students to look critically at a text, including their own writing, and thus to evaluate student’s essays and to give proper feedback and guidance to their own students.

    This course will focus on approaches and issues in teaching second language writing. Students will be encouraged to think critically about the various approaches and to reflect on their own beliefs and practices about writing and the teaching of writing as well. The course will not only examine the prevailing theories on teaching second language writing, but also focus on the practical aspects of teaching writing, including teacher and peer feedback, assessment, audience, syllabus design, materials and tasks for teaching writing, and textual borrowing. Students will also be encouraged to look at research in the field and think critically about it. The course will aim to strike a balance between theoretical and practical knowledge.

  The main purpose of this course is to help students deepen their knowledge about the subject of foreign language teaching methodology. Students will be introduced to the principles and techniques of different teaching methods used for teaching English as a foreign language to young and adult learners. Classroom discussions will be the most important element of the course and the students are encouraged to draw on their own experiences from ESL/EFL contexts and explore them in relation to current theory and research.

  As computers have become more and more integrated into our daily lives it is vital for language teachers to have some understanding of their role in language instruction. Without this understanding, it is difficult to make sound judgments about how to integrate computers into language classes in order to make student learning more engaging, efficient, and effective. It is hoped that this course will serve as a foundation for teachers interested in applying technology to the language learning classroom and beyond. The course introduces the current theories and practices of Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL). Course topics include the history and principles of CALL, software evaluation, the design and development of Web-based language courses, computer-mediated communication, Hyper media and corpus for language teaching. In addition, the use of computers in the development of particular language skills in the area of reading, writing, and speech communication/pronunciation will be introduced. The course also examines the current language learning theories that underline CALL applications.
