“It is a real pleasure for me to back at the South East European University. Almost ten years have passed since the University opened its doors in a pioneering and innovative venture to provide high academic standards to all students of this country,” said OSCE High Commissioner Vollebaek.
“Many of you, who are students here today, will become part of this country’s elite. As well-educated citizens, you will, to no small extent, be assigned the task of shaping the country’s future and ensuring the stability of its democracy,” said among others, Ambassador Vollebaek.
SEEU’s Pro-Rector for Research, Prof. Dr. Blerim Reka, said that the Ohrid Framework Agreement should not be understood only as matter of numbers, but as a basis for advancing inter-ethnic relationships and stability in the country.
Dobrinka Taskovska, Professor at St. Cyril and Methodius University, said in Macedonia actual debates are more for focused on interethnic relationships and less on cultural diversities. She said that she is a strong Euro-fan and she believes in European values and the future of Macedonia.
The former ambassador of the Republic of Macedonia to OSCE, Mr. Arsim Zekolli, said that things should not be generalized and we should focus on the individuality of each member of society.
