The World Bank and SEEU Open the Public Information Centre

The Public Information Centre of the World Bank Office Skopje and SEEU was opened at the Max van der Stoel Library on Wednesday (1 June 2011).

Attendees included representatives of the World Bank, the local and national business sector, nongovernmental organizations and students and academic staff.

“We are proud to have such a Centre, supported by the World Bank. As many of you may know, soon, SEEU will mark a milestone, 10 years of educating young, bright, and energized students. As we move forward, SEEU will take a more active role in increasing research capacities of both its academic staff and students” said the Rector of SEEU, Prof. Dr. Zamir Dika.

“The Public Information Centre represents an important resource for sharing knowledge, building capacity and forging partnerships in the public and private sectors. It will share knowledge to our internal and external local community and aid us in forging deeper partnerships” said among others Rector Dika.

The Country Manager of the World Bank Office Skopje, Ms. Lilia Burunciuc, said that the World Bank is trying to implement more access to information or to make public all information, as part of new trend of this Bank.

“We are open for discussions and suggestions coming from the university or public,” said among others Ms. Burunciuc.

In the future, the World Bank Office Skopje and SEEU will organize joint activities, such as round tables, workshops, seminars, presentation and discussions.

The World Bank Public Information Centre is located within the SEEU’s Library.
