First Future Skills Center in North Macedonia opens at South East European University

A Future Skills Center #SkillsNext opened at South East European University on Thursday (November 4th), the realization of which was made possible within the project "Bridging the skills gap to create new and better jobs" supported by the British Embassy, United Nations Development Program-UNDP, Fund for Innovation and Technological Development in North Macedonia and South East European University.

The keynote addresses were delivered by the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Skopje-H.E. Rachel Galloway; the UNDP Resident Representative-Mr. Armen Grigoryan; the Director of the Fund for Innovation and Technological Development-Mr. Kosta Petrov; and in the capacity of host the Rector of the South East European University, Acad. Prof. Dr. Abdylmenaf Bexheti.

Rector of the South East European University, Acad. Prof. Dr. Abdylmenaf Bexheti, in his keynote speech, said that he is very pleased that the opening of this center and the realization of this project is in the continuation of the establishment of laboratories for practical training and skills training (Labs4Practical Education) for creative thinking and action, which we call labs for practical learning.

"This is the third laboratory that we open within a year at the South East European University, starting from the Forensic Laboratory at the Faculty of Law, the iCan Center in Gostivar and now the Future Skills Center here on the SEEU campus in Tetovo. I can say that our labor market is very asymmetric and through these projects we are giving our contribution to reduce the gap between the labor market and education sector" said Rector Bexheti.

Rector Bexheti thanked all parties involved in the implementation of this project, emphasizing that such centers enable us to transform education from classical lectures in the classroom into applied education.

Within the Center, professionals, practitioners and students will attend specialized training in the field of textile industry, construction and agriculture.
