“Usually, I start my speeches by greeting the students and then their professors, but today my greetings go first to the professors, who have the main role in the education of young generations toward a comprehensive educational and cultural development of our society”, said the Rector of SEEU, Prof. Dr. Zamir Dika. He noted that March 7th is a day of rich history for education, but as a society we have to build ourselves with the development of performances. “Therefore, the mission of March 7th continues to be active even today. We understand this mission as an obligation to give future generations more qualified people with knowledge and culture. This is the mission of SEEU, a quite acceptable model where it coexists with the great tendency for educational and cultural development, and with the market needs for skilled staff", he said.
According to Dr. Demush Bajrami “we have to accept one fact: that during its existence, since 1887, the Albanian School has undergone many changes in order to try continuously to meet and satisfy the requirements of modern education”.
Prof. Dr. Stefan Qirici recalled the importance of this day, noting in particular the contribution of the Renaissance family Qiriazi. “This day serves to remember all those who have contributed and sacrificed themselves for the Albanian school. We recall those who were the initiators of the national education in general and the emancipation of Albanian women in particular, as was the case of the Qiriazi sisters and the first Albanian Girls’ School”, said Qirici.
Prof. Dr. Zeqir Kadriu stressed the need to make a distinction between the first institutional Albanian school and the first beginnings of education in Albanian. "Albanians even before the opening of the first Albanian school had developed educational activities, but the opening of the first Albanian school was an institutional act that marked the beginning of the institutionalization of education for Albanians”, he said.
The President of the SEEU Student Parliament and Association, Arta Demirali, gave a speech in which she thanked professors and staff for their contribution. She noted that “we should feel special since we are students of this University”.
In this ceremony, students of the SEEU Department of International Communications, students from the Woodrow Wilson School in Tetovo, and the String Trio of the University of Tetova gave performances.
