MATA Translators' Conference Held at SEEU

The Macedonian Translators Association--MATA--held their third international conference on Saturday, 24th of October, on the Tetovo campus of South East European University.

The conference gathered approximately sixty translators from both Macedonia and the wider region. The conference was particularly pleased to host two distinguished guests from Croatia: Gabriela Banic, the President of the Croatian Association of Court Translators and Interpreters, and Ozren Dolezl, a representative of the Croatian Association of Literary Translators.

The conference was opened by the President of the Macedonian Translators Association, Irena Kacarski-Kimova, and welcoming remarks were made by the SEEU Provost, Andrew Goodspeed.

The conference had panel discussions of three main themes--business aspects of the translation profession; court translation; and literary translation.
