The new academic year at South East Europe University begins

On Monday and Tuesday (14th-15th September) the new academic year 2015/2016 began for all students of South East European University.

The first-year students were greeted in a formal reception. Due to an increased number of new student enrolments, the reception for the new students was held in both SEEU campuses in Skopje and Tetovo.

The first-year students were greeted in a formal reception by the Rector of South East European University, Prof. Dr. Zamir Dika, who spoke about the difference of being a student of South East European University.

“At this University you will be taught by professors and academic staff who are all dedicated and trained to provide you with knowledge and competence according to new teaching methodologies. They are ready to instruct, guide, advise and assist you in acquiring knowledge systematically. You will be special students, because you will have the most sophisticated electronic and administrative services in the region. These are designed to suit your lifestyle in a dynamic way, with a high level of interactivity”, said Rector Dika.

In the first Induction Day, the President of the University Board -- Prof. Dr. Dennis Farrington was present as well.

The first-year students were greeted also by the Provost, Prof. Dr. Andrew Goodspeed, who gave very useful tips to the students.

“Have fun, work hard, ask for help when you need it and enjoy the diversity that SEEU offers. Our goal is to teach you, not what to think but how to think. Education is your key to the future, because times change quickly. When I was your age there were no cell phones, google did not exist and Germany was two countries", said Provost Goodspeed.

Arta Demirali, the President of the Student Parliament, assured new students that this association will always support the students. She noted that we face a lot of challenging moments together, but will also have a lot of opportunities.

During the ongoing induction week students will become acquainted with the University's infrastructure; they will acquire their student ID cards; design their schedule; and meet with Student Advisors and University administration. Students will also become familiar with the main University services such as Student Services, the IT Service, the Library, the Career Centre and the administration of the respective faculties where they will study.
