SEEU Celebrates the Career Fair

On Wednesday (May 7th) South East European University held the annual Career Fair, organized by SEEU Career Centre.

The SEEU Career Fair presents a good opportunity for students to meet with potential employers, in a forum where they have opportunity to discuss employment opportunities and internships. It also allows students to discuss the applicability of their qualifications and skills with the demands of the labour market or the needs of a specific company. On May 7th, students had the opportunity directly to apply for jobs by submitting their C.V.’s directly to the companies’ stands.

The Rector of SEEU, Prof. Dr. Zamir Dika, formally opened the Career Fair; Rector Dika spoke about the importance of this event for students, the University and the business community: “The day of our Career Fair coincides with the eve of a very important day - 'Europe Day.' There are many reasons for 'Europe Day' to be observed in Macedonia, especially at our University, because celebrations of this day should remind us about the European spirit of our institution. Europe is not only a geographical concept, but a philosophy, a mindset and a vision. Our Career Fair serves as an already-paved path for career guidance, which undoubtedly helps students in finding the best solutions for employment and career planning for their individual needs."

The Mayor of the Municipality of Tetovo, Ms. Teuta Arifi, also addressed the formal ceremony of opening, and noted that the municipality will continue to support cooperation between the business community and universities. As Dr. Arifi said, “The cooperation between the business community, universities and government is very important in order to realize the integration of processes.”

This year's Career Fair was the ninth annual Fair, and over 50 companies and organizations from Macedonia were present, explaining their activities and staffing needs to the students, academic and administrative staff and other guests.
