SEEU Intensifies Cooperation with European Universities

After meetings with the head of the EU institutions in the fields of Scientific Research, Innovation and International Cooperation in the Field of Higher Education, the Rector of South East European University, Prof. Dr. Zamir Dika, conducted several meetings with representatives of Belgian universities and other well-known European centres for scientific research of EU foreign policy.

On 20th February Rector Dika, accompanied by the Director of the SEEU Institute for Scientific Research ‘Max van der Stoel,’ Prof. Dr. Veton Latifi, met the representatives for international cooperation of the University of Ghent in Ghent and of ULB University in Brussels. During these meetings with representatives of the two universities, they expressed the readiness of their universities to foster cooperation within European mobility programmes, for joint applications for research projects under EU programmes for research and higher education, and for intensifying cooperation and examining possibilities for organizing joint conferences and joint publications of university research groups.

During these meetings the Rectorpresentedsome concrete possibilities and expressed the willingness of South East European Universityto intensify cooperationin the areas in which the university has its own experience and can provide added-value within specific future cooperative projects.

Previously, on 19th February, the SEEU delegation in Brussels was hosted by the representative of one of the most popular European Institutes for scientific research of EU policies, CEPS (Centre for European Policy Studies). During the meeting with the Director for EU foreign policy, Prof. Dr. Steven Blockmans, he and the SEEU delegation found a mutual interest for applications in joint European research projects that coincide with EU foreign policy and the Western Balkans, as well as for an annual joint publication with researchers in relevant fields from both institutions.
