The purpose of this study program is:
- acquiring knowledge of social work with individuals, families, groups and local communities in social risk or facing a social problem
- acquiring knowledge of overcoming social inequalities, and contributing to socially vulnerable groups
- adoption of skills for providing services without discrimination based on race, gender, ethnicity, religious affiliation, economic status, age and other
- adoption of knowledge for creation of social policies in the domains of social protection, social insurance, employment, education, housing, etc.
The Social Work and Social Policy study program will take place in eight semesters. The total number of credits is 240.
Upon completion of the study program, students will be able to be employed in the centers for social work, hospitals, rehabilitation institutions, educational institutions, non-governmental organizations specialized in delivery of social services, etc.
Knowledge and understanding
The student shows knowledge and understanding of the scientific field of study, which builds on previous education, including knowledge in the field of theoretical, practical, conceptual, comparative and critical perspectives in the field of social work and social policy and according to an appropriate methodology. He/She understands a specific area and knowledge of current issues related to scientific research and new sources of knowledge in the social sphere. He/She shows knowledge and understanding of various theories, methodologies in social work and social politics.
Applying knowledge and understanding
Can apply knowledge and understanding in a way that shows a professional approach to work or profession. Shows competencies for identifying, analyzing and solving problems that individuals, families, groups, and local communities face. Is able to locate and reinforce arguments within the field of study.
Making judgement
Ability to collect, analyze, evaluate and present information, ideas, concepts from relevant data under the competence of the social protection system. Make an appropriate assessment taking into account the personal, social, scientific and ethical aspects that the social worker should possess. Being able to assess theoretical and practical issues, to give explanation of the reasons and to choose the appropriate solution.
Communication skills
The ability to communicate and discuss with both the expert and the unprofessional public about information, ideas, problems and solutions. Ability for independent participation, with professional approach, in specific, scientific and interdisciplinary discussions.

Introduction to Public Administration
Public administration is an area which is of special interest to science. With the course Introduction to public administration, students will gain knowledge of the basic concepts of public administration. Particular emphasis will be put on evaluating public administration, as well as on the reforms in this area in our country. Students will have the opportunity to become familiar with this area and critically analyze the development and phenomena of public administration. Because this area is subject to constant change, particular attention will be given to new theories and classical theories in public administration. Study topics include concepts and basic knowledge of the principles and the institutions of public administration, the role and importance of public administration in the organized society; genesis and historical development of public administration; organizational structure of public administration; the functioning of the institutions of public administration; civil servants, control and responsibility of PA, communications in PA, public administration as a service for protection and realization of human rights, etc.

Quantitative and Qualitative Analyses in the Social Sciences
The objective of the course is to focus on two general approaches to data analysis, namely, quantitative and qualitative. In terms of quantitative analysis, it focuses on the use of statistical analysis; in terms of qualitative analysis in which it is defined as those approaches that do not include quantitative approaches (or approaches that do not use numerical manipulation). The student will also analyze and present case studies, research methods, research approaches, implementation of empirical design, and multivariate analysis.

To gain in-depth knowledge of the concept, principles, sources, institutes and content of European and national social law, as well as skills for analyzing and interpreting hard and soft legislation in the field of social law. Students should be able to analyze and discuss modern approaches to protecting users and to enable them to implement it.

Human Resources Management
Human resource management (HRM) is an important aspect of organizational management. This course focuses on the multiple expressions of management of human resources in the public sector. In this course we will examine theories and practices of HRM in the context of factors, democratization of society, rapid development of technology and globalization that directly affect the development of HRM. Also, the role of HRM in organizations with emphasis on recruitment, selection and testing, training, development and compensation of human resources of the organization is observed. In addition, important HRM activities include analysis and job descriptions. Applied strategic thinking in analyzing the organizational and personnel challenges, provides specific solutions to executives in the public sector. This course prepares you to be successful managers by examining the theories, practices, and policies of modern HRM.

International Humanitarian Law
International Humanitarian Law as a course represents one of the best opportunities for students to become familiar with the set of rules, which from the humanitarian aspect intend to limit the effects of armed conflicts. Students will have the opportunity to listen to the measures of protection of persons who did not participate or do not participate in hostilities and restrict the means and methods of war. In particular, the positive role of rules pertaining to the obligations of civil servants in cases of armed conflict is of special importance.

Labor Law and Labor Relations
Labor Law is a separate and independent legal discipline in the legal system. Its basic subject of study and arrangement is the employment relationship. The subject program "Labor Law" consists of two parts: Part One - General and Basic Issues of Labor Law and Part Two - Labor Relations. The first part covers general-theoretical questions such as: subject, definition, meanings, and place in the legal system, characteristics, and relation to labor law with other legal disciplines, development, domestic and international sources. In addition to the introductory remarks, within this section, considerable attention is paid to the collective agreements and the International Labor Organization (ILO).

The purpose of this course is to provide students with a theoretical and practical experience of conducting counseling and evaluation in social work. Youth Work in the Community
This course provides a contemporary socio-political perspective of politics and the youth as the most essential social group. Today's youth, besides being a subject of the most scientific analysis, it is essentially facing major local and global challenges to their careers and livelihoods. Young people are an integral part of a group in which they were born and live. But at the same time we are part of a complex structure of organizations which have their own problems particularly with political institutions. The course will summarize all theoretical and practical dilemmas in the field of relations of the young generation in political life and institutions of democratic society. The process of socializiation of the young generation and participation in public and political life, is known to be called by Freud as the Super ego and by Herbert Mead as communication with the environment. Topics will cover the process of youth and liberalism, public health and pathological phenomena like: alcoholism, drugs, prostitution, delinquency, etc. Are we considering the fact that the young generation is the future of the society, and do we have proper political participation? Topics that will be elaborated in close relation with the problems of teenagers, collaboration with community, activism, the political life of youth, youth groups, gangs, youth movements, social changes in school, neighborhood, etc.

Students acquire knowledge about scientific achievements in the field of social development, the importance and the need for the dynamics of social development, its forms, methods and areas of expression, compilation, planning and competencies.
