The Civil Law study program aims to provide a range of modules that will form the basis of information and advanced knowledge on Civil Law matters for the purpose of preparing students to carry out professions related to this field by providing solid, specific and systematic knowledge, about institutions and concepts of Civil Law in R. Macedonia and comparative knowledge about the region and the EU.
The Diploma of this study program will enable PhD students to conduct scientific research work in the field of Civil Law sciences, as well as teaching at universities in the country and abroad, and also will be actively involved in the process of strengthening the resources of government activities in terms of the country's Euro-Atlantic integration process.
Knowledge and understanding
- Has detailed knowledge of civil law, as well as material аnd procedural as well as basic norms in key areas of civil law.
- Has detailed knowledge of the principles and institutes of civil law, including the origin and contents.
- Assess the areas of civil law in a critical manner, the scientific and practical standpoint.
Applying knowledge and understanding
- Develops and promotes analytical and research skills of selecting the problems in theory and practice through the use of legislative acts and judicial practice;
- Identifies and analyzes the most complex problems, taking an active part in all phases of civil procedure and can perform complex issue civil legislation;
Making judgement
- Performs more critical thinking through methods of analyzing and comparing.
- Develops skills of solving problems through case-law practices of more complex national and international cases;
Communication skills
- Utilizes proper terminology for complex and specific issues in the area of civil law sciences;
- Is able to make decisions and work more directly and effectively in all stages of civil court procedure.
- Is involved in research-based legal argumentation and debate;
- Utilizes the official languages of the University as well as more advanced computer skills in the research work.

- Develops a set of research rules and regulations to be used in their profession.

Research Methodology
This course is designed for students who are preparing to carry out a doctoral thesis project. The main objective of the course is to offer students tools for conceptualising their thesis regarding their research issue and the creation of data collection methods and qualitative analysis. The course is focused on problems of the quantitative methods and techniques, such as statistical analysis, texts related to theory and testing hypotheses. Then, the meaning and topics of descriptive and causal inference are of a great importance, longitudinal comparative research and case study. Advanced information data collection will be offered for working with text. The goal is to analyse the quality of data and incorporate all theoretical and practical performances in the function of designing and writing the thesis.

Civil and Property Law - applied program
The concept of the curriculum aims to help students acquire the ability to apply their practical knowledge of civil law, a skill that every lawyer should possess. It is expected by the student to develop the technique of proper application of legal rules (reading and interpretation of civil legal norms). Also, the student is expected to possess normative technique: Transactions (contracts, wills), preparation of various types of complaints (lawsuits, complaints, objections, requests), and the preparation of judicial acts (judgments, decisions) and acts of other administrative bodies (decisions, contracts) that stimulate and change the civil legal relations. Also, the concept of the curriculum aims to help students acquire the ability to apply their practical knowledge of property law. It is expected by the student to develop the technique of proper application of legal rules of property law.

Civil Procedural Law - applied program
Specific objectives of this program consist of enabling students to identify and critically analyze the fundamental institutions of the contested procedure, non-contentious and execution procedure as well as to develop skills of applying knowledge gained in practice in relation to the management of these procedures.

Review and Approval of the Doctoral Dissertation Plan
After the first semester, the student begins his activities for the development of the plan on his doctoral dissertation. Activities include literature review, definition of the hypothetical framework, definition of the working methodology and determination of the individual plan as well as the first public presentation.

Scientific Research Work

Doctoral Dissertation
Continuum of the work of the doctoral dissertation. The thesis (dissertation) is submitted; it is then accepted by the Scientific-Teaching Council of the Faculty and then submitted to the committee members; the procedure for the public defence of the thesis begins.
