In the premises of the South East European University in Tetovo, from October 7 to October 9 the conference on "Concepts and advantages of multilingualism in Europe 2" was held, following the conference on the same topic, held in September 2009 and organized by the College of Communication and Business in Budapest.
The organizer was the Faculty of Languages, Cultures and Communication with the coordinator Prof. Dr. Mustafa Ibrahimi, in cooperation with the Research Group "Babylonian Europe", University of Amsterdam with the coordinator prof. Dr. Laszlo Marash. The Provost Paul Foster, the Dean of Faculty of LCC Vebi Bexheti and coordinators of the two universities Mustafa Ibrahimi and Laszlo Marash had their speeches at the opening of the conference.
35 papers were presented at the conference by participants from 14 countries: Netherlands, Croatia, Australia, Kosovo, Canada, Albania, Norway, Hungary, Switzerland, Poland, Turkey, Romania, Belgium and Macedonia.
The following participants represented SEEU with their work: Vebi Bexheti, Mustafa Ibrahim, Hamit Xhaferi, Zeqir Kadriu, Elena Andreevska, Gzim Xhaferi and Brikena Xhaferi, Veronika Kareva/Daniella Ilievska and Shpresa Mustafa, Natasha and Bllagojka Zdravkovska, Florim Ajdini.
The conference was successfully organized in four scientific sections: multilingual organizations and institutions; multicultural societies, transnational communication tools and various other topics.
The organizers of this conference have decided that the third meeting on "Concepts and advantages of multilingualism in Europe 3" is to be held in Osijek, Croatia.
