Application for subsidized student meals from August 26 to 31

All students — both freshmen and students from higher years — should apply to this call in order to exercise their right to a subsidized student meal starting October 1, 2026.

Applications are submitted electronically through the portal e-uslugi.mon.gov.mk. All full time students enrolled in first-cycle or second-cycle studies, as well as integrated studies, at public and private universities in the country may apply. Applicants must be citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia and must not have a monthly income, on any basis, higher than the minimum net salary for the current year.

When submitting the application, students are required to attach the duly completed and signed forms: Application for Acquiring the Right to a Subsidized Student Meal, and Statement on the Accuracy of the Data Entered in the Application for Acquiring the Right to a Subsidized Student Meal. The Ministry of Education and Science will, ex officio, obtain all other evidence needed to confirm eligibility, which is held by the Ministry of Interior, the Public Revenue Office, and the student services of the faculties.

Any applicant who needs direct support while applying for the right to a subsidized student meal may contact the Sector for Pupil and Student Standard at the following email: subvencioniran.obrok@mon.gov.mk.

The financial support in the amount of 140 denars is intended for purchasing food, and students may use it from Monday to Saturday at legal entities that produce, prepare, or sell food. The cash benefit is not payable during the summer break, from July 1 to October 1.

For the implementation of the subsidized student meal payments, the Ministry of Education and Science has signed a contract with Sparkasse Bank AD Skopje. Accordingly, all students who acquire this right — of which they will be notified electronically by the Ministry — will need to sign a contract with Sparkasse Bank to open a special account linked to a dedicated payment card.

Starting from October, the opportunity to apply for the right to a subsidized student meal will be open from the 1st to the 5th of each month during the 2026/2027 academic year, for the registration of students who did not obtain the right through the Public Call, or whose right ceased due to failure to meet one of the criteria, at the point when they meet the criteria again.
