Addressing students and staff, Mr. Santiago spoke about the role of public diplomacy and the importance of international academic cooperation. Mr. Ilazi shared valuable information regarding educational exchange programs, highlighting the opportunities available to students and young professionals seeking to study at universities in the United States.
During the event, two students from SEEU’s Faculty of Contemporary Sciences and Technologies shared their experiences as Fulbright scholarship recipients. Ron Ismaili, who is preparing to begin his studies in the U.S., and Florina Asani, who completed her program at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, discussed their academic and personal journeys. They reflected on the challenges and benefits of studying in an international environment, inspiring fellow students to pursue similar opportunities.
Following the presentation, the Embassy representatives met with the Advisor for Community and International Relations, Prof. Dr. Besa Arifi, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest. They then visited the Max van der Stoel Institute, where they were welcomed by the Director, Prof. Dr. Veli Kreci, and the institute’s staff, to exchange views on developments in higher education and future collaboration.
The visit concluded at the Max van der Stoel University Library. The representatives were received by the Head of the Library, Ms. Elmedina Abdullahu, who introduced them to the facilities and resources provided to students and academic staff.
