In his address, Rector Ibraimi emphasized that SEEU is experiencing sustainable academic growth, institutional stability, and significant progress in the quality of teaching, scientific research, and international cooperation, thereby consolidating its position as one of the leading higher education institutions in the country and the region.
Special attention was given to graduate employability. The Rector reported that approximately 60% of SEEU graduates secure employment within the first year after graduation, while in certain faculties, such as the Faculty of Contemporary Sciences and Technologies (CST), this rate reaches up to 80%. According to him, these figures demonstrate the strong alignment of study programs with labor market demands and the real needs of the economy and society.
Rector Ibraimi also addressed international rankings, noting that according to the QS World University Rankings 2025, SEEU ranks first among Albanian-speaking universities in the region, third in North Macedonia, and 126th in Southeast Europe—an achievement that reflects the University’s competitiveness and growing academic reputation at the international level.
Regarding institutional governance, it was highlighted that SEEU has been declared the most transparent university in North Macedonia, according to the latest Forum for Educational Change (FECH) 2025 study, confirming the University’s commitment to accountability, good governance, and open communication with students, staff, and the wider public.
A significant part of the presentation was dedicated to scientific research and research projects. The Rector reported that during the year, within the framework of MVDSI and BIC, 16 research projects and three applied projects are being implemented, directly contributing to the advancement of scientific knowledge and the provision of practical solutions to social and economic challenges. SEEU is also a partner in the regional project ChallengeEU, which promotes innovation and cooperation among universities, public institutions, businesses, and civil society.
The Rector further highlighted concrete results in scientific productivity, noting that SEEU academic staff have produced 257 scientific publications in the recent period, indexed in international databases such as Clarivate Analytics and Scopus, as well as in journals, books, and scientific conference proceedings.
The traditional end-of-year press conference was held in a spirit of transparency and open dialogue, reaffirming South East European University’s commitment to quality, innovation, and public responsibility, as well as to building a modern, competitive, and future-oriented university.
