Awareness Panel on Breast Cancer among Women

As part of its activities dedicated to promoting women’s health awareness, South East European University, in cooperation with the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Rotary Club of Tetovo, organized a panel discussion on the topic “Awareness of Breast Cancer among Women.” The event aimed to enhance understanding of the importance of early diagnosis and modern approaches to breast cancer treatment.

The attendees were welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Asst. Prof. Dr. Danijela Vojtikiv Samoilovska, who emphasized that the faculty places particular importance on activities that raise awareness among the general population.

During the panel, Dr. Argjend Imeri, radiology specialist and subspecialist in breast cancer at the Clinical Hospital of Tetovo, spoke about contemporary methods of breast cancer screening and prevention.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Ilir Vela, thoraco-vascular surgery specialist, presented the evolution of surgical methods — from radical treatments to oncoplastic reconstruction — emphasizing the importance of a humane and aesthetic approach to women’s care.

Furthermore, Dr. Vjollca Skenderi, oncology specialist at the Department of Oncology, Clinical Hospital Tetovo, discussed personalized oncology and therapies based on patients’ biological profiles, highlighting the significance of multidisciplinary care.

The event concluded with a discussion and Q&A session, during which participants had the opportunity to exchange views and receive professional advice from the experts.
