SEEU Alumni awarded at Dalarna University in Sweden

SEEU continues to confirm its reputation as a leader in the region, offering quality education and success to its former students who continue their education or build their career in the most prestigious international universities. A concrete case for this is a former student of SEEU, Mevudin Memedi from Kumanovo who won the prize, “The Best Master Thesis for 2009,” from Dalarana University in Borlänge Sweden.

This SEEU Alumni has prepared his thesis in the field of computer engineering entitled “Web Application for Monitoring the Outcomes of Patients with Parkinson’s Disease through Mobile Device.” This thesis aims to create a web based system that helps doctors by providing additional information in making decisions during the evaluation of the of Parkinson’s disease symptoms in their patients through their mobile digital device (PDA, Personal Digital Assistant). The main contribution of this system is a new and safe way for collection of information on symptoms of patients at home. Easy access and history information allows the creation of database of information on current individual assessment and determination of clinical treatment. The prize is awarded by the Business Incubator Foundation in Teknikdalen Dalarnes University in Sweden. The award is elaborated on the fact that the thesis contributes to launching a new product for automatic monitoring of the status of patients with Parkinson’s disease from the company Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Allschëil, Switzerland.

Mevludin Memedi completed his undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Contemporary Sciences and Technologies at SEEU and completed his master's degree at the University of Dalarna and then was admitted to the Swedish University as the only Albanian young assistant.
