Prof. Dr. Sadudin Ibraimi Appointed as the New Rector of SEEU

On June 5th, 2025, at the 55th meeting of the University Board, the South East European University (SEEU) Board appointed Prof. Dr. Sadudin Ibraimi as the new Rector of the University for a three-year term, following a secret ballot. Prof. Dr. Sadudin Ibraimi succeeds the third Rector of SEEU, Acad. Prof. Dr. Abdylmenaf Bexheti, who successfully led this unique institution of higher education in North Macedonia for two consecutive terms.

The new Rector was elected by a majority vote of the total Board members, and the election process was conducted in accordance with the SEEU Statute. President of the Board withdraw one member of the Board from the voting process due to the conflict of interest with one of the candidates for Rector.

The public call for the position of SEEU Rector included clear eligibility criteria: holding the academic title of Full Professor recognized at the national level, having managerial experience (preferably within a higher education institution), and demonstrating a strong commitment to advancing SEEU’s mission. Preference was given to candidates with a good command of the University’s working languages: Albanian, Macedonian, and English.
