This significant event was organized by the Liberal Alternative Institute and the Economics Fundamentals Initiative (EFI) from the USA, in close cooperation with SEEU, as an integral part of the Economic Education Program. The Olympiad aims to empower and inspire young people to explore new horizons in the field of economics.
In the opening remarks, the Rector of SEEU, Acad. Prof. Dr. Abdylmenaf Bexheti, emphasized the importance of economic education for a just and sustainable society. He also reaffirmed the university's commitment to supporting young talent and innovation: "SEEU remains strongly committed not only to offering high-quality academic programs and professional staff but also to providing continuous services that follow the most relevant trends in modern education," stated Rector Bexheti.
Following the opening ceremony, participants took the written test, demonstrating deep knowledge and analytical skills on current economic issues. The competition continued with the #EconlitX Talks session – a unique platform that featured inspiring talks, powerful ideas, and success stories from prominent voices in economics, entrepreneurship, and education.
The highlight of the day was the oral exam, where the top 10 students faced a true challenge of critical thinking and economic reasoning. Meanwhile, other participants continued with the second session of #EconlitX Talks.
In the closing segment, motivational speech from Randall Filer, president of EFI, and Про-Rector Ибраими underscored that investing in youth passionate about economics is an investment in the future of regional and global development.
The event concluded with a solemn award ceremony, where the five national winners were announced – they will represent North Macedonia at the International Round of the Economics Olympiad.
