The First International Physiotherapy Conference was held – A platform for knowledge, innovation and regional cooperation!

On May 17, 2025, the First International Physiotherapy Conference was successfully held at the South East European University in Tetovo, an important event that brought together health professionals, researchers, lecturers and representatives of local and international institutions in the field of physiotherapy.

The conference was organized by the Albanian Association of Physiotherapists, in cooperation with the South East European University, marking an important moment for the academic and practical development of the physiotherapist profession in the region.

The welcoming speeches were given by the President of the Conference, Fadil Rustemi, who welcomed all the guests, thanking everyone for the support, from the University, public institutions and researchers in the field themselves, that have made this conference a success.

In his welcoming speech, the Rector of the South East European University, Acad. Prof. Dr. Abdylmenaf Bexheti, emphasized that our development and growth as SEE University is gradual, careful and that the enthusiasm and professionalism of the staff proves our commitment and aim for continuous expansion in this field.

Welcoming speeches were also delivered by the Minister of Social Policy and Demography, Mr. Fatmir Limani, the Mayor of the Municipality of Zhelinë, Blerim Sejdiu, and the President of the Albanian Association of Physiotherapists, Faton Daci.

The Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Dr. Danijela Vojtikiv-Samoilovska, in her speech presented the achievements of the Faculty of Health Sciences.

During the two sessions of the conference, participants attended scientific and practical presentations on current topics such as: non-surgical treatment of scoliosis, rehabilitation after stroke, vibroacoustic therapy, modern approaches to low back pain, the impact of COVID-19 on quality of life and the use of new technologies such as functional magnetic stimulation and AI in physiotherapy.

Special focus was given to advanced therapy, new scientific approaches and the integration of technology in rehabilitation care.

The conference concluded with recognitions and certificates for the contribution of each participant and a common message for continued regional and international cooperation for the development of physiotherapy as an essential profession in the health system.
