This commemorative meeting, which was held on the University premises, was attended by family members, students, professors, colleagues and close associates of Prof. Xhaferi, to honor his valuable contribution to academia and society.
The welcoming speech was delivered by the Rector of SEEU, Acad. Prof. Dr. Abdylmenaf Bexheti, who evoked memories of his first meeting with Prof. Xhaferi, describing him as a calm, dedicated and rare figure in professionalism.
"From the first moment I met him, Prof. Hamit Xhaferi was characterized by a rare calmness and a deep professional dedication. He was silent in appearance, but vocal in his deeds" emphasized Rector Bexheti.
The requiem for the deceased was read by Prof. Dr. Demush Bajrami, Dean of the Faculty of Languages, Cultures and Communication, describing Prof. Xhaferi was a wise and tireless figure who has left an indelible mark on the academic development of the Faculty and the University in general.
A special part of the meeting was the speech of Prof. Dr. Vebi Bexheti, a close collaborator and colleague of the deceased for many years, who shared personal and professional memories with the attendees. He highly praised Prof. Xhaferi's knowledge, wisdom and dedication in teaching, research and in raising new generations in the field of linguists.
On behalf of the family, with words of gratitude and dedication, the daughter of the deceased spoke, thanking the institution and colleagues for the respect and care shown to her father's figure.
