Rector Bexheti informed that SEEU has achieved a historic milestone by launching the Faculty of Technical Sciences, the seventh faculty within the university, completing its academic offerings in two strategic areas: Health Sciences and Technical Sciences. These programs address the growing demands of the labor market and represent a significant development for the university and the region.
According to data presented by Rector Bexheti, SEEU recorded a 7.5% increase in enrollments this year, a record achieved through the expansion of academic offerings and increased interest in the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Faculty of Business and Economics. The Tetovo campus has revitalized the interest in the Polog region with a 25% growth, while the Skopje campus remained stable, accommodating 30% of the total student body. The Rector also highlighted the return of students attending classes in the Macedonian language, with a 3% increase compared to last year, reaching 12% of the total number of enrolled students.
SEEU has made progress in the quality and quantity of scientific publications, with 30% of them published in prestigious international journals. The university has also secured funding from multilateral and bilateral donors, culminating in its inclusion in the “EU Challenge” Alliance. This significant project, with a budget of €1.2 million for SEEU over the next four years, focuses on creating a fully standardized digital platform up to artificial intelligence. The project offers the possibility of continuation for an additional four years.
One of the most significant innovations of the year was the 700 Acceleration Program, aimed at empowering startups and promoting entrepreneurship in the region. Rector Bexheti emphasized that this innovation and collaboration center, developed by BIC, aims to promote sustainable solutions and contribute to the economic growth of the country and the region.
Concluding his address, Rector Bexheti praised SEEU's long-term financial sustainability and emphasized that the allocated budget remains unchanged despite political rotations, demonstrating the institution's stability and strategic vision.
The year-end conference highlighted SEEU’s major achievements and reaffirmed its commitment to remaining a leader in education and scientific research in the region and beyond.
