A round table on the circular economy was held

Foundation of the South East European University and the Business and Innovation Center, within the project co-financed by SlovakAid, today (10.10.2023), held the round table on the topic: "Circular Economy in North Macedonia - Recommendations based on lessons learned from Slovakia". At the opening of this table, the Rector of the South East European University, Acad. Prof. Dr. Abdylmenaf Bexheti and the ambassador of Slovakia in North Macedonia H.E. Henrik Markuš.

In his speech, Rector Bexheti thanked the Slovak government and Slovak taxpayers for supporting the implementation of these projects, which offer numerous opportunities for the economy.

“The effects of the circular economy are multiple and primarily environmental, social and economic", emphasized Rector Bexheti in his speech.

Slovak Ambassador, H.E. Henrik Markuš, in his speech, explained the goals why SlovakAid has supported this project, what are the opportunities and benefits for the country. He said that it is more important to raise the awareness of the citizens and then to find a systematic solution to the problem with waste.

The presentation of findings within the project was made by Avni Arifi, project coordinator.

Company representatives, environmental students and academic and administrative staff participated in the round table.
